Thanksgiving is a holiday, Black Friday is not, so I want you to enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday but be mindful that this is a holiday that celebrates America, not the selling out of Americans. You know who is looking towards Black Friday more than anyone in the world? China. That’s right, China. Why? Well maybe it’s because they are manufacturing almost everything which will be on sale on Black Friday. Does a Black Friday selling frenzy really help Americans or is it just more American dollars going out of the country to foreign manufacturing bases? And don’t give me the old adage that good Black Fridays are good for America because the stock market loves good sales days, we all know that the stock market is no longer a good gauge of how the average American is living. Furthermore, many economists are saying that the recent stock rally can continue as long as the Fed keeps rates at zero because when you have zero interest rates you are encouraging people to take risk so trying to tie good sales into good stock rallies and then into an economic recovery is nothing more than politic-speak or hogwash. Remember, the fundamentals of the American economy need to be considered and this is where the big problem resides when the topic of recovery is brought up, especially when you consider the issue of Chinese imports. A false sense of economic recovery is being provided by the Fed because of their attempts to try and stimulate the American economy through their interest rate policies but rather than have an artificial recovery through Fed smoke and mirrors, we need to address the issues associated with the falsehoods. To have a true economic recovery we must address the domestic unemployment issues, the dwindling domestic manufacturing base, and the domestic budget shortfalls our country is facing based on lost tax revenue from the loss of jobs and products which are no longer created domestically but instead outsourced to countries like India, China, and Mexico. Look at what the state of California is having to do with their college tuitions, is this fair to us as American citizens? If education is so important than why is it treated so stupidly? And by the way, the geniuses at these universities who preached in their business classes about the benefits of outsourcing, why are they now complaining about having to take salary cuts based on lost tax revenue because of outsourced work, isn’t this what those geniuses were expecting? Could it be that they have been wrong all along and now their mistakes are coming back to hurt us all? And remember this, emerging markets are not weighed down by enormous debt levels like Americans are so companies find these areas much more attractive. However, along with slave labor wages these countries also have a workforce with a non-existent human rights code so add this to their dubious environmental records and you can see that the bad definitely outweighs the good and that outsourced work may be the worse global disaster of all which may end up leading to the almost extinction of mankind. Human extinction and outsourcing, yeah it kind of sounds like they belong together doesn’t it? Who would ever have though that a globalized economy would be more devastating to mankind then global warming? Well thousands have, but no one wants to hear them because they are not what corporate America wants to hear, they don’t want the truth to stand in the way of the bottom line. So as you shop during Black Friday you need to be considerate of what is really going on. Don’t be lead to buy by the same corporate companies who have sold out American workers. You need to look to buy domestically made products, and if you can’t buy products then buy domestic services or items such as gift cards to restaurants. It’s time to use a day like Black Friday to send a message, send one that says that the American consumer is educated, and intelligent, and they will not let their prospects for a better tomorrow be outsourced to another country. Today it’s someone else’s job but tomorrow it may be yours. Do what’s right and buy what America builds and make sure Americans are building what Americans buy. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday but be mindful that this is a holiday that celebrates America, not the selling out of Americans.
