President Obama has announced that he would hold a jobs forum at the White House in December. Did it really take potentially facing a 10.% unemployment rate for the President to see that he needed to do more to address the unemployment rate in our country? And does it take any more than addressing the inequality or current work force is competing against when it comes to India, China, and Mexico? President Obama will hold a jobs forum at the White House in December but the answers are right here and ready right now, it is cheap foreign imports which are destroying are employment ranks. Greedy multinational companies are pulling up stakes in developed countries and moving to countries like India, China, and Mexico where human rights are almost nonexistent and workforces are more like sweatshops and labor camps. How can developed countries compete against countries where there is no decent living wage, benefits, or workers rights? Let’s get real here, the only reason Americans, Europeans, and Australians are unemployed is because so many companies high-tailed it in the dark of night to Asian countries with little or no concern for human dignity. President Obama recently noted the encouraging signs of economic growth and a slowing of the loss of jobs in recent months but come one, the only real reason job losses are slowing is because we have lost so many there are just not that many left to lose. If you have $100 dollars and you lose ten percent of what you have every month, things are not getting better, you are just losing less because you have less. Come on, its idiotic thinking like this that has put us in this mess; let’s not get even more confused now. The President also said that employers are still reluctant to hire while millions are desperate to find work but that’s because they know the game and how it is being played, they are hiring but unless you speak Cantonese or Hinde, or Spanish, best of luck to you. However, we need to remember that we are still the number one consumers in the world and we need to use this power to compel companies to create jobs here and not import their products into us. We need to do this through tax breaks for domestic production and equalization taxes for imports. I agree with the President when he says, “We all know that there are limits to what government can and should do, even during such difficult times. But we have an obligation to consider every additional responsible step that we can to encourage and accelerate job creation in this country. “However, we are being taken advantage of by economic predators masquerading as big business leadership and in this respect we do need more government action. The forum will include CEOs, small business owners, economists, financial experts, and several other representatives from areas of commerce. What we must remember that if we continue to stay as a nation of importers we will be dooming ourselves to a life of struggling and strife, if we forget how to fish we will be feeding off of others and they, not us, will control our futures. Do you really want India, China, Mexico, or the Middle East telling you how to live your life? In modern times it is economic strength, as much as military strength, which provides a country with opportunity and protection. If we are weak economically, we will also be weak militarily, and if we continue to weaken then the nut jobs will have a field day making our lives miserable. Don’t leave it up to big business, we have seen how they abandoned us, you must take hold of our future as Americans. You must contact your local politicians and demand that they enact legislation which encourages domestic creation. Don’t wait for the jobs forum, take matters into your own hand and begin a jobs forum of your own.
Mr. President;
Please allow me to present a different focus or point of view in regard to PUBLIC OPTION HEALTH CARE and the CREATION OF JOBS.
In your speech to the students of America, you said; Regardless of the field (students) pursue, be it “Doctors, Nurses, Architects, or Engineers, you will need an education.” that is an obvious and broad statement.
In order to need something, and to have the ability to obtain that something, can be either possible or impossible.
Everyone in the United States of America needs Health Care Insurance. It is POSSIBLE {as all things are “possible”} for every person in America to receive Health Care Insurance.
I could (if I were a Billionaire) open a Limited Liability company and provide health care insurance for $1. per month per every individual from the age of 6 years to 99 years of age, thereby providing health care supplemental insurance for EVERYONE, That is a POSSIBILITY.
However; It is not a Reality, nor is it practical or feasible. But; it is not an IMPOSSIBILITY.
What is, an impossibility; is the lack of the real dollars and cents, cash flow, and income to PAY, for Health Insurance at any rate; whether subsidized by the Federal Government or Private Enterprise.
1. Doctors charge an office fee regardless of whether or not the patient has or can afford Insurance.
2. The Student or their families must first pay years of tuition for the achievement higher educational levels needed to acquire “Professional Practice Positions.”
Then and only then. Once the Student has acquired their required diplomas; Certificates and Licenses, required to earn the income desired. The Graduate must now expend more dollars to find the openings whereby to practice their skills and trades. More than likely without employment or substantial funding to keep them afloat.
That is why I KNOW that the plan I have outlined to you in previous correspondence is a true MATRIX for achieving every element necessary and of creating a REAL “Public Option” FOR HEALTH CARE… A three dimensional means of ASSURING that every one in the United States of America can receive health care (meaning CARE FOR THEIR HEALTH) regardless of the ability to pay for insurance, regardless of cost and from whomsoever will provide it.
Health-care Providers do not need Stimulus. All they have to do is deduct $1.00 per month per insured premiums paid from each subscriber and amass Billions of dollars per year above and beyond their net earnings.
In other words, Mr. President Those who are “satisfied” with their providers, let them be free to continue with their providers.
Those who oppose any Federal of Governmental intervention, let them continue to satisfy their Political Agendas.
BUT for those (like myself) who have and may be still struggling within a lifetime, in the same or similar environment of poverty, and have had to rob Peter (health care) in order to pay Paul (the IRS, Emergency Wards, Non service connected Veteran’s Co-pay, under employed, welfare recipients, homeless, etc.).
This Matrix which I am suggesting will include :
1. Education for every occupation known to mankind
Apprenticeships, {as was practiced in the early years of our American History.
2. It will provide Employment for everyone with the ambition to enter the labor force regardless of previous or current educational levels of achievement {anyone desiring employment can be hired, if only to push a broom, without having to be selected like the longshoremen during the days of the great depression.
No person will be considered “over qualified”; I believe you are familiar with the term, and how it was used to discriminate in the hiring interview.
3. It will CREATE Entrepreneurial Development in every sector of Commercial and Industrial Markets. Corporation
Duplication of Business, Labor-force and Executive level Administration.
Finally my point to you Mr. President is, as the saying goes, “there are many ways to skin a cat”. The plan and process you and your advisers are presenting is not even virtually addressing the real dilemma which encompasses the need for a public option health care provision.
The rhetoric depends upon your point of view. Personally I do not believe that GOD had to take the life of any animal to provide the covering for Adam and Eve. There were too many {animals} that were willing and honored to SHED their coats (referred to by many authors as “skin”). Also, I do not believe in removing anything without having something better to replace it.
Something is only CREATED where nothing has existed before. You only “create” jobs, because the was no job,and are not “replacing” jobs with another, already established job, or adding a new employee to the same or a similar job.
The plan I propose will provide totally new {created}jobs AND newly created {trained, educated, apprenticed} laborers. AND SKILLED, PROFESSIONAL, INSTRUCTORS.
Please allow me to hear from you in a response by your own hand, and in your own words.
Rev. Donald D. K. Logan
