Unemployment and Political Conventions Rue The Day

The Democratic Convention, the Republican Convention,  even the Ron Paul Convention is academic when you consider the convention occurring at your local unemployment office. And maybe we should not just blame the politicians, maybe we need to hold accountable our so-called American businesses who keep laying off American workers, and offering only American workers buyouts. Maybe if we did like other successful countries and relied on our own domestic gross product creation the economy would be in better shape. Has anyone noticed that Republicans and Democrats have come and gone but its only since our manufacturing jobs went away that our country began to suffer. Maybe we need those jobs of yesterday much more than the pipedream of the so-called jobs of tomorrow. The US unemployment rate rose to its highest level in nearly five years in August as the economy lost jobs for the eighth consecutive month. These losses were mainly brought on by huge losses in the manufacturing sector. Maybe if we kept manufacturing here in America we could keep our economy healthier. The Labor Department has reported that the economy lost 84,000 jobs in August, more than the expected 75,000 lost jobs economists were expecting. You may be amazed to find out that the economy has lost 605,000 jobs in 2008 alone. And when you consider the job losses of last year we are shedding a little over 20,000 jobs a month. Just how long can America sustain this type of trend? So why the pundits discuss the Sarah Palin pop or the Barack Obama jump they must also keep in mind the job losses we are facing. We as Americans need our own source of domestic energy and we also need to rejuvenate our domestic manufacturing. So when you consider who you will cast your vote for make sure you consider your employment. You must also consider the businesses you shop at and frequent, if they ship jobs out of the country then you need to do your shopping somewhere else.
