American Business Needs To Stay American Or Else

American Axle announced it is laying off 40% of its North American workers, get that right, North American, not overall workers. In addition, Fords, GM, and Chrysler have all cut North American workers. Just how much can these companies cut as far as ‘American Workers’ and still keep their American standard? Just how much will our government allow before it stands up for the American worker and not corporate America who is actually selling out American workers? We hear of failing state budgets, state deficits, and a failing economy, and like idiots we listen to politicians and big business tell us why. However, the truth is that as we lose jobs we lose our ability to consume and as we consume less there is less to go around. If we want to save America we first and foremost have to save American jobs, if we do not then expect your children to be learning Cantonese, Hindi, or some other foreign language and expect them to be the ones who are oppressed by racist behavior and stereotype oppression.  

Without jobs the future looks bleak no matter who is running the country. It’s time for a change and we need it now. The last lecture was a powerful statement and we need even more powerful statements to save our country. It’s time we stop paying all of our attention to Amanda Beard, Hannah Montana, Christian Bale, Batman and a little more attention to what is happening in America. Paying some attention to Amanda Beard, Hannah Montana, Christian Bale, Batman is fine but make sure you pay attention to the changing political and economic landscape in America. The future depends on it.
