Holier Than Thou On Humanity And Politics

I listened to a very telling story regarding China and the Sudan and here is what the two individuals I spoke with had to say. Both individuals who are active in human rights causes have stated that the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has filed genocide charges against Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir for the campaign of brutality and genocide in Darfur. They advised me that the bigger part of this is that China has been named by the BBC as the supplier of weapons to Sudan during this time of violence and genocide so Mister Conservative you tell me, how do you look your family in the eye after your church or temple service when you move American businesses to a country who sells arms to an African country who is performing atrocities on a scale as bad if not worse than Nazi Germany? How? They asked me to think about this next time we buy something made in China. They advised me that the BBC was told during its recent investigation that China was training fighter pilots who fly Chinese A5 Fantan fighter jets in Darfur. Troops and militia members shoot and kill civilians, but now the Sudanese air force is being called in to bomb villages and towns in support of the ground forces, according to the prosecutor’s evidence to the International Criminal Court. Reports from the BBC also say that the Chinese Fantan jets were delivered to Sudan in 2003 before the current UN arms embargo was imposed on Darfur but China is training Fantan fighter pilots which is in direct violation of the UN Arms Embargo being enforced on the Sudanese. The two I spoke with stated that even an idiot can put this two and two together. China gets cheap oil from the Sudan; they also get to sell expensive weapons and training to a desperate and sadistic country.

The planes to kill from above support the weapons sold from China used by the armed Sudanese who are cooperating with Arab militias who are going from village to village in Darfur, killing, torturing and raping residents there. The prosecutor recently stated to CNN, “The (U.N.) Security Council referred the case to me and requested me to investigate…After three years I have strong evidence that al-Bashir is committing a genocide. I cannot be blackmailed, I cannot yield. Silence never helped the victims. Silence helped the perpetrators. The prosecutor should not be silent…They are raping women, raping girls, raping in groups, raping to destroy the communities, rape is a tool in the genocide, the most important tool today.” How silent will you be? How accountable will you hold China? The BBC report also reportedly found anti-aircraft guns sold from China to the Sudan. However, the guns are not used for protection but instead for mass murder and devastation. The dominant anti-aircraft gun fires straight into civilian houses with its high caliber shells which are designed to explode on impact resulting in a spreading of hot shards of metal designed to be used as a fragmental weapon to cause terrible and horrifying wounds designed to cripple innocent humans and destroy the will of the people. ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo presented his evidence against Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir to the judges at the Hague in the Netherlands and the prosecutor expects to move forward with the case. It is now up to the judges to decide whether to issue the warrant, but it is expected that they will. The warrant would make Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir the first sitting president to be indicted by the International Criminal Court for genocide. They asked me a final question, the evidence will show that the Sudan is guilty of crimes against humanity but what will China face for its assistance? I have no answer for them, do you?
