While we debate idiotic things such as what Don Imus was thinking and what Don Imus meant we are taking away from what is important, global destruction. Global warming is not the problem it is the symptom, global warming is caused by the global economy and the effects of dirty pollution by third world countries trying to become industrial mini-mites. Does anyone have any idea how much of the world can be industrialized before we tip into the danger zone? Big business wants to sell to the world and therefore they want to industrialize, or what they call modernize, the whole world. However, just how many trees are needed for oxygen? How much fresh water is needed to sustain a good level of water supply? Just how much waste and byproduct can the soil absorb? Just how much meat source is there in comparison to the worlds meat needs? Globalization, or what should now be renamed corporate greed, is destroying the world. It has created food shortages, water shortages, and even a reason for deplorable humans to take advantage of commodities such as oil and manipulate them for their own greed. However, what no one is willing to discuss is just how much industrialization is enough. Why should we be concerned with cutting carbon emissions in America when Asia and India are tripling the amount of carbon emissions? Why should we be worrying about water supplies when in India they are polluting and destroying every fresh source of water there is? Forests are disappearing all over the world and no one cares. Just how many more trees can we cut down before we all suffocate from lack of oxygen, do you know? You should, and so should I.
It’s time we get all of the countries to slow down a little bit and stop the global destruction of our planet based on the corporate greed of big business. Everything ahs a limit and we are very close to reaching ours and if we do not slow down we will hit it twice as fast as the world can handle. This is not just an American problem it is a global problem and it needs to be addressed before it is too late. Spread the word and start the talk. Just like global warming used to be a casual conversation so should this. We need to stop the industrialization of the world and let the earth have a chance to adapt to the rapid changes we have so quickly recently implemented.
