When a ship starts to sink the rats begin to abandon it and they are smart enough to swim far away to avoid being sucked under once the ship finally goes down. High unemployment, terrible trade policies, terrible energy policies, and disastrous economic policies are all charges that have been levied against President Bush but usually these charges come from the outside, or the so-called far left, never from one in his inner circle. However, Scott McClellan is leveling such like minded charges and he is from the inside, as inside as it gets. In a quick rebuttal to Scott McClellan the White House is saying Scott McClellan was not in the know all the time but if he was the Press Secretary for the President and he was not in the know then who is? Or are they saying no one in the White house knows anything? Well just what are they saying?
Scott McClellan was the spokesman who defended President Bush’s policies during Hurricane Katrina and the early years of the Iraq war but now he has turned tail and is dishing on his former employers by stating that the Bush administration is mired in propaganda and political spin and at times plays very loose with the truth. Scott McClellan went as far as to say that in regards to the Iraq war, “Bush and his advisers confused the propaganda campaign with the high level of candor and honesty so fundamentally needed to build and then sustain public support during a time of war…In this regard, he was terribly ill-served by his top advisers, especially those involved directly in national security…” In regard to hurricane Katrina Scott McClellan states, ” One of the worst disasters in our nation’s history became one of the biggest disasters in Bush’s presidency…Katrina and the botched federal response to it would largely come to define Bush’s second term.”
The White House would not comment because they haven’t seen the book but who believes this? These guys see specks of dust in deserts thousands of miles way, trust me, they have seen this book, they just do not have a Rovian answer yet for it. Although current members of the bush Administration are lashing out at Scott McClellan, he has stated that he stands behind the accuracy of his book. In regards to the Plame Blame Game Scott McClellan states, “I had allowed myself to be deceived into unknowingly passing along a falsehood…It would ultimately prove fatal to my ability to serve the president effectively.” McClellan wrote that he did not realize he was telling a falsehood until much later in time.
