Shooting Of Quran Is Hypocrisy At Its Finest

Why is the White house debating NBC about the stupid title of a useless war? Does anyone truly know? Even worse, why are American leaders embarrassing themselves in regards to a ridiculous shooting incident in Iraq? The below story, if true, disgusts me. Let me start by saying that I respect all major religions, I have my belief but it is grounded in faith and because my religious beliefs are grounded in faith I understand other religions having faith in their beliefs. However, I do not like religious intimidation or religious hypocrisy be it from Christians, Atheists, Jews, or Muslims, and the recent uproar over a Quran shooting is religious hypocrisy at its finest. It has been reported that Iraqi Prime Cowardice Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s office is saying that on Tuesday President Bush apologized for a U.S. soldier shooting at a Quran. I am not for religious intimidation or disrespect but I do not believe that the American President should be apologizing to the leader of a country who allows beheadings, assassinations, and child abuse to occur without a second thought. Is using a child human shield less of a travesty than shooting a book? Iraq is reportedly stating that President Bush called Nuri al-Maliki over a shooting incident involving a Quran, al-Maliki’s office says. I guess the shooting of a Quran means more than the blowing up of tens of mosques, I don’t see Maliki calling any of his countrymen out on this. Nuri al-Maliki’s office stated that President Bush issued an apology on behalf of the United States and promised to present the soldier to the courts but Washington is now saying this is not necessarily the truth.
Reportedly American officials are stating that the sergeant who performed the alleged shooting was relieved of duty as a section leader and officially reprimanded. The problem I have is that in a country of turmoil where woman and children are blown up to bits outside and inside religious mosques, how can al-Maliki try to be holier than thou on this incident? To make matters even worse it appears that Major General Jeffery Hammond, commander of U.S. forces in Baghdad, appeared with leaders from Radhwaniya and apologized. Reportedly the Major General stated, “I come before you here seeking your forgiveness…In the most humble manner I look in your eyes today and I say please forgive me and my soldiers.” How dare any American official have this proud soldier cowtail to these cowards and speak in such a wimpish fashion. Let al-Maliki rid his country of terrorists who blow up innocent Muslims in mosques and then let him worry about one book shooting, are you going to tell me that when these idiots blow up a mosque they some how magically miss the Qurans? Is shooting one Quran less of a sin than blowing up a mosque full of them? I am all about respecting religion but do not try to say that one man shooting a Quran is worse then the thousands who are blowing up innocent Muslim worshippers and their Qurans on their holy days. This is just one more reason to add to the list of why American soldiers do not need to be in Iraq one day longer. It’s also time to drop the hammer on Iran and get this mess straightened out and get out of the Middle East once and for all.
And speaking of Iran, have you noticed that Iran’s nuclear ambitions have sparked interest in atomic energy across the Middle East? Somehow I don’t think it’s an energy race but more of a nuclear arms race which is brewing in the Middle East. Over a dozen Middle Eastern countries are currently exploring atomic energy plans and trust me; this isn’t just to power a few light bulbs, Iran’s nuclear program is becoming the main driver of other Middle Eastern nuclear concerns. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and several others are now concerned over an imbalance of power if Iran is able to attain nuclear capabilities. Let’s end the idiotic war in Iraq and address Iran and then move on like we should. Make jobs in America not useless wars in the Middle East.
