Just what is getting done in Washington to help you as an American? Do you know, do you really know? Well let’s think about this. Lawmakers grilled oil executives from the world’s five largest publicly traded oil companies during the week and other than criticizing them for taking tax subsidies, and not investing in renewable resources amid record prices for oil and gasoline, not much else was accomplished. The FBI needs more than 1,000 new agents, intelligence analysts, and support staff, agency insiders have stated but will they get them and how will we pay for them, no one in Washington seems to know.
A Chinese official accused Tibetan independence forces on Tuesday of planning suicide attacks, an allegation that the Tibetan government-in-exile immediately denied. However, no one in America stood up for the monks and there was never an official apology or take back offered by China in this absurd accusation, and politicians in Washington continued on with the ‘don’t ask don’t’ tell policy on China. China tried to use the new ‘do it because of terrorism’ mantra but in this case it did not work. The Dalai Lama is a “man of peace and he has made no indication that he wants to do anything other than have a peaceful dialogue with China to discuss how to deal with some of the serious issues there, but again American politicians just ignored the issues. Beijing blames the Dalai Lama and his followers for violence but they are merely doing this to deflect the light now being shined on their dirty little secrets everyone ignores. Does Washington care to put pressure on China like it does Russia and the Middle East, it appears not and why is that? Additionally, this week in Washington there are reports circulating which show the unemployment rate jumping to 5.0% from 4.8% in February but this is not the worst and our Washington politicians know this, what we are missing from the report are amount of Americans who now can only find underemployment and part-time work, and this does not account for the hopeless who have given up the search, for some reason when you quit looking for a job you no longer show up on the employment and unemployment reports, does anyone know why? Then you have Detroit which has the dubious double duty distinction of being the murder capital of America as well as the dropout capital of America and yet nothing is getting done to alleviate the issues. Mater of fact, you have a Mayor in hiding, who has been accused of multiple crimes while overseeing Detroit’s rise to the top in murders and dropouts, being supported by people who are the friends and families of the murdered and parents of the dropouts and still no one in Washington does anything to help out. We help far and away lands but we do nothing here at home, this has to change or America as we know it will just go away. Don’t think it can happen, how many of you remember the USSR prior to the breakup of Russia?
