Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick And Textual Relations

We are always so quick to say politicians are all crooked or that politicians only work for Big Business but we must say that with a caveat, we are the ones who elect these politicians. From the President right down to the City Council, we vote the good ones in and we vote the bad ones in so maybe its time we became more educated voters. You would think that after Rostenkowski and Delay and Marion Barry that the election of a Mayor would no longer be take so lightly but apparently the city of Detroit has bucked this trend by casting their lot with the so-called Hip-Hop Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, and yet they wonder why their lives are in disarray and their hope for a bright future is dimmed.

See in Detroit, those who can’t lead look to lay blame and this problem is not just a Detroit problem it is becoming an American problem, but for now let’s just focus on Detroit. When the Mayor knew he was gonna get nailed he went on the attack and used the race card, he tried the OJ tactic. However, his using of the words lynch mob mentality and the ‘N’ word backfired on him and riled up many Detroiters. The mayor stated that soon after some of his sensual text messages were released that many started calling him Nigger.

Now anyone who lives or has seen the Mayor in person in Detroit knows he is a gigantic massive man who is larger than most average Americans so calling this man a Nigger is highly unlikely, and then you throw in that the Mayor is always surrounded by two to our large security officers and you have a very fearsome foursome and it would take a lot of guts for even a Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris type to call this man the ‘N’ word. He simply used racial overtones to try and rally up a defense and this is more appalling than the idiots who really do use the ‘N’ word.

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his Chief of Staff Christine Beatty allegedly get caught having an affair and the Mayor reportedly had been utilizing his 4 person security detail as gophers for his trysts, Mrs. Beatty included. The problem occurs for the Mayor in the fact that not only was he having an extra-marital affair while in office but that he utilized Detroit taxpayer dollars to fund his trysts and he utilized city communication devices such as cell phones and pagers to carry on his trysts and the real problem occurs when the Mayor and Chief of Staff Beatty testify in court that they did not have an affair nor did they use city funds or communication devices to carry on this personal affair. In addition the Mayor reportedly fired some police officers assigned to investigate the Mayors use and abuse of taxpayer dollars.

The Mayor has since settled a whistleblower suit with the police officers who were fired for investigating the mayor. Additionally, some of the more high profile issues and scandals the Mayor is embroiled in are the use of a city paid for Red Navigator for his wife personal uses. The Mayor is also being investigated in a murder investigation involving an exotic dancer who was allegedly assaulted by Kwames’ wife during a secretive party at the Mayoral mansion. There have also been accusations of the Mayor awarding out city contracts to friends and family members who were not as competitive as other bidders for these contracts.

With all of the energy problems, unemployment, and election issues, does Detroit and other major areas need idiots running the local government?
