There are two mantras you hear a lot which raise questions that never get answered during election years. In the previous Presidential election the Republicans introduced the phrase ‘jobs Americans won’t due’ and both Democrats and Republicans use the phrase ‘when the jobs come back’. Can anyone tell me of a job an American won’t due? What jobs are these which are outsourced because we will not do them? Additionally, what makes us think any jobs are coming back? Do we think that countries which now have our outsourced jobs are going to just lie down and die and let us have the jobs back that American Big Business gave them? We were naïve enough to let Big Business screw us and outsource, and off-shore, our jobs overseas, do we really think overseas will give them back to us? Additionally, Big Business is actually trying to outsource and off-shore more because they want to be hedged in case America does not make it and they have to be grounded in another country. American Big Business tells Americans to buy from American businesses but many of these businesses are the same ones now firing or laying off American workers for overseas workers. These so-called American businesses want you to hold on just long enough until they re properly hedged and then they will cut us all loose. Big Businesses are the ones who say protectionism is bad and it will hurt the economy but that is because they sit in their ivory tower with little concern whether their livelihood comes from Juan, Hassam, Swoonaporth, or Ching Ming, or a domestic American worker, they only care that they are still generating income, they have little use for a social conscience let alone social responsibility to America or for Americans. The only way to protect your job and America’s future is to elect politicians who will protect the American economy and the American workers. We need politicians who will ignore foreign country lobbyists and Big Business lobbyists; we need politicians who will eliminate normal trade relations with countries practicing unfair trade policies. We need politicians who will eliminate tax breaks for companies who off-shore or outsource and we need to tax imports much more heavily. A strong economy creates what it consumes and that’s what America needs to do, we need to create more of what we use. Today its someone else’s job but tomorrow it will be yours, if you don’t think so just look at late 80’s – early 90’s Russia, they relied on outsourcing and importing and look how badly it hurt them.
