Good Ol Boys Have Good Intentions

While the good ol’ boys worry about Toyota winning the Daytona 500 what they really need to worry about is that GM, Ford, and Chrysler are creating more jobs overseas than they are in North America combined. It is the good ol’ boy mentality that is destroying the American dream not because of what it stands for but because those who support it do not totally understand American business any longer. These good ol boys cheering on their favorite NASCAR drivers have good intentions and they are great Americans but they are being misled by corporate America just like we all are. They are told by domestic automakers’ that they should buy American but these same domestic automakers are closing North American auto plants and building new ones overseas. However, Toyota, which is still new to NASCAR is building in North America and creating jobs for North Americans, they are investing in America when our own domestic companies are bailing, you tell me who we should support. Ideally, I want to support only American companies, as other citizens should of their own countries, but I also want my domestic companies to support me. I want them to provide Americans jobs so Americans can buy their products. Cheer on Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jimmy Johnson, Tony Stewart and all the rest but understand what you are saying when you decide to go after Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, and GM. Additionally, the supposed boy wonder of the financial world, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, recently stated in public that the American economy is clearly on the edge of a recession, and he singled out miserable housing market as a principal cause. Greenspan stated there is a good chance that the country is headed toward a recession. Greenspans prediction came on the heals of current Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, who advised Congress that the American economy is weakening and that he anticipates slow growth in 2008. Greenspan and Bernanke are pretty intelligent guys but they just don’t get it or like many other Americans they just don’t want to get it, they cannot see that Free Trade and Outsourcing are destroying America’s greatness. Greenspan cites the recent credit crunch and subprime lending issues as problems but he states it could be worse had American businesses not been flush with cash. Greenspan stated, “If it weren’t for the fact that business was in such extraordinary good shape before this problem hit, I don’t think we’d be questioning at this stage whether we’re in a recession…We’d be talking about how long and how deep.” Greenspan says the housing market will continue to erode until the reason of the deterioration ends but we all know the real reason of the deterioration, it’s that we have no jobs. Of course people will default on their loans, even 1% interest loans will be defaulted on if you have no income and that is where America’s problem lays, the fact we do not have enough job creation. Big Business lobbies Washington hard not to say this because they want their outsourcing to continue as well as their Free Trade but we all know its true so lets call a spade a spade, lack of domestic job creation is the reason America is in the shape its in and no amount of stimulus will fix this until we create more domestic work that provides Americans with weekly paychecks.
Support American companies who support you and none of the others.
