American Politicians Work For America, Not The U.N.

First off, I want to remind our politicians that they work for America and not the united Nations, if they want a U.N. job let them quit and apply for one, otherwise tell me about American issues, we are not electing a U.N. Assembly, we are electing legislators for the people by the people of the United States of America. Front-runners John McCain and Mitt Romney attacked each other’s conservative credentials at the last Republican debate before Super Tuesday contests. One thing that stood out is that when Senator McCain was asked about his ability to lead the economy he went on a tangent about his ability to fight the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. This answer leads me to believe that electing McCain could result in more of the same, a stagnant Government and a Republican President hell-bent on focusing his attention to foreign countries and not on our domestic needs. I was disgusted to hear the exchange in the debate when Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, was asked about the McCain accusation that Romney once said he favored a strict timetable for removing our troops from Iraq. Romney responded by stating, “ It’s simply wrong, and by the way, raising it a few days before the Florida primary, when there was very little time for me to correct the record, falls in the kind of dirty tricks that Ronald Reagan would have found reprehensible.” The occurred at the Reagan Presidential Library and every candidate took their turn in trying to build some awkward connection between themselves and Reagan. The debate was dominated by McCain and Romney but Huckabee made the most sense when he stated that investment in infrastructure instead of tax rebates is the best way to stimulate the American economy. Huckabee stated, “Infrastructure in this country has been neglected, I don’t think there’s a governor in this country that wouldn’t tell you that you’ll create more jobs and you’ll build it with American workers, American concrete and American steel. That’s stimulus.” The Huckabee type of talk is what we want, not more about blowing our countries prosperity on a wasted cause in the Middle East or more debate about global warming. And to further an issue with global warming, what good does it do for America to hold up two coal plans when 2 a day are being constructed throughout the world? There is no difference if the coal emissions come from America or China, or India, or Mexico, or Vietnam, or Uruguay, or Valenzuela, or Africa, or Tonga so why should America be deprived of precious energy when so many other countries are pollution up the world? We must also remember that its time to quit fighting conventional wars and focus our efforts on the internet, diplomacy, and public relations. It’s time for a new way of doing thingsand we need someone who will work for America and not the United Nations.
