Illegal alien New York Drivers License Fiasco

The illegal alien New York Drivers License fiasco has hopefully, finally, ended. However, the fact that it ever came up is disturbing. We have an illegal alien problem and rather than fix the problem we will just give them licenses and ‘poof’ the problem will go away. I wonder if the idiots in charge will next allow bank robbery or store hold ups to resolve the subprime mortgage issue. How can we dare even consider legalizing an illegal activity? I know a real resolution; fire the dumb bastards who are in charge who were working when this illegal immigration of illegal’s really kicked into gear. If we can’t fire these bzo bastards then let’s give the current ones in charge of immigration a year to get rid of the majority of illegal residents or we in turn fire them. What type of society allows ignorance and sloppiness to create a problem of this magnitude and then enact legislation to just absolve the illegal activity? How about our current President and the next President in 2008 get their heads out of the Arabian sand and bury it here in America and resolve this issue permanently. New York Governor Eliot Spitzer withdrew a controversial plan that would have allowed undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses but to even suppose the plan is what I see as the real problem. Let’ not forget that it is in all reality that the hands of Big Business are involved in illegals in the country as well. These Big business bastards have their lobbyists oppressing politicians’ so that real immigration legislation never sees the light of day in regards to immigration. The lobbyists’ settle for immigration reform discussions but reform is condescending and that is not acceptable. Forget reform, we need law. We need to enforce the law and kick illegal’s out. The large majority of us are sons and daughters or grandchildren of immigrants. However, our grandparent’s immigration was legal and that’s all we want. Come to America, by all means come here, but do it legally. Should your first action in America be an illegal act, what kind of precedent does that set? Over 75% of Americans oppose illegal immigration so why don’t our elected officials get the hint?

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s plan for driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants came under heavy criticism by his very own residents which in turn caused Spitzer to withdraw the proposal after a brief trip to Washington. Governor Spitzer has repeatedly stated that his plan was intended to make New York safer but how can legalizing free criminals make us safer? He does head in the right direction by stating, “What we are trying to do, first of all, is address a problem that the federal government has created, which is that there are one million people here in New York state alone who are not here with proper documentation.” However, what he needs to do is keeping investigating and pushing this up the flag pole and see whose lap it falls in. Then we persecute, or prosecute, this individual.

I also don’t like Presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clintons flip flopping on the issue. She stated about Spitzer’s plan, “it makes a lot of sense… Spitzer is trying to find a solution to a bigger problem…We have several million at any one time who are in New York illegally, so what Governor Spitzer is trying to do is to fill the vacuum.” Come on Hillary, if you want our vote you have to do better than that.
