You Are Being Jacked For Oil And It May Get Worse

If refining oil is the problem in America then why aren’t we building more refineries? Plain and simple, building refineries is the answer to our energy issues, this and the need for more clean coal power plants. We spend billions in every other god-forsaken country to alleviate various foreign countries useless and unimportant issues but the main problem that really hammers on our own American citizen’s never even receives a second of consideration or an ounce of monetary deliberation. If you think you are getting screwed at the pump now, and believe me you are, just wait till the refineries switch back over to summer blend next year and the delays this causes will surely be a reason for the gas stations to gouge you before as they never have.

Big Oil does not want more refineries and they lobby hard in Washington to make sure this does not happen. Why does this lobbying happen? Because when there is a refining bottleneck the price of oil goes through the roof and why should companies like BP, Exxon, Royal, Shell, Chevron, Citgo , ConocoPhillips, Yukos and countless others sell a barrel for 50$ a barrel when they can get 90$ a barrel and all they really have to do is purchase a few lobbyists and provide a few perks.

You need to stop what you are doing right this instance and pick up a pen and paper and write your local Congressman and Senator and Governor and advise them that you want more Ethanol production and more oil refineries slated for construction immediately. If you do not force them to do it now you will only get screwed worse later. The oil companies get rich selling the barrels of oil at jacked up prices and the Upper Class gets rich by playing the commodities market and working oil futures like it’s a legalized boiler room stock market.

The Middle Class and Working Poor get screwed when energy prices get jacked and it’s time we as Americans try to do something. Let your politicians know that if they do not produce then you will vote for the other guy\gal, this is the only way to get their attention. You can just blow this off and do nothing but then you better not yipe at next years gas prices, or you can take affirmative action and get to work on doing something to really address the issue.

Let’s hope the next President in 08 addresses this issue with the concern it deserves. I will attach a list of the oil companies below to which the jacked prices are making rich. And where are the Congressional and Senate committes who should be looking into gas gouging and oil futures manipulation? Maybe oil does need global regulation if it can’t control itself.

Let’s create some new jobs in America, let’s address our energy issues, and let’s make America proud and strong once again. Demand more refineries and more Ethanol Plants.

  1. You might be interested in the Wounded Warriors Project. It’s a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness for U.S. troops severely wounded in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. It really puts a face on the cost of this conflict. Here’s a link:
