Is It A WOPR Of A Future For America?

First off, there is a housing slump in America because there is a job loss problem in America that no one wants to discuss. However, I am onto a much hotter topic, the old W.O.P.R. threat of thermal-global-nuclear-war, shall we play a game doctor? Is there anyone else out there who feels like the cold war was nothing but a nuisance compared to where America is at in modern times? And if war broke out with Russia, or China, or somewhere else in the Middle East, where would our so-called American multinational companies stand? Would manufacturing, information technology, and information services companies continue to work and support a country in direct conflict and war with the domestic United States? Look at the current events involving America and you can see there is more reason to worry than you think.

To begin with, China is protesting U.S. honors for the Dalai Lama this week by pulling out of a planned international strategy session on Iran sought by the United. China is also upset over the American support for an independent Taiwan and Tibet. Then you have Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi arriving in Turkey on Tuesday for talks aimed at “defusing” the crisis along the Iraqi-Turkish border, where Turkey is considering cross-border assaults against Kurdish separatist rebels in Iraq. The PKK army helped in the northern front during the opening days of the Iraq war and an attack by Turkey on Kurds in Iraq would cause a nightmare for American forces operating in that area. You also have Turkey considering steps to censure the United States based on the Armenian genocide issue. Furthermore, we also have Russia now standing up in support of Iran and making blatant statements warning western countries against attacking Iran.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin openly warned the U.S. not to use a former Soviet republic to stage an attack on Iran during his visit to Iran and this is just one of his many recent shots at America. Putin stated that none of the nations in the Caspian territory should be used by any outside countries for use of military force against any nation in the region. Many say this was an obvious reference to rumors that the U.S. was planning to use Azerbaijan as the staging ground for possible military action against Iran.

These issues do not include smaller hot spots of hatred such as Indonesia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, and numerous others. We have to ask ourselves, why we are the point of so much hatred and aggression and also just how patriotic will so called American multi-national companies be in America if America does end up in a larger scale global war.

Just where are we headed and who is taking us there?
