It’s your world so quit living like a squirrel trying to get a nut. It’s time that American politics reflect American needs and not the international needs of the global community. We are governed by the constitution and nowhere in the constitution does it say that we have to agree to have our hard earned tax dollars wasted away in foreign countries. I am all for helping out my fellow human beings but not at the expense of my fellow Americans. I see the walking dead in Flint, Detroit, and even Ann Arbor so why should I be happy to send my hard earned tax dollars overseas when I have the needy and poor right here in my own state?
We have working poor and struggling middle class right in my neighborhood and these individuals need me much more than do citizens who live in some of the oil rich and manufacturing rich countries of the new global economy. It is hard in good conscience to allow my tax dollars to go abroad when I see the faces of so many in need right here in America.
I ask myself, why do politicians dodge the questions of domestic aide, domestic plight, domestic suffering, and domestic job creation? It’s because if they hem and haw about far away countries we just tune them out and they sing and dance around our countries real issues until they have served their political terms and settled in to a nice cushy lobbying position or they golden parachute right into an executive advisory position with a company they helped along the way during their previous political career. You have heard this all before but the difference was that before it was not so important.
However, in the ultra-competitive modern world your very livelihood is at stake almost weekly whether you know it or not. Big Business would just assume outsource you and your momma if it made them a few pennies more per share, they tell you to make sure you buy American all the while they are building anywhere and everywhere which is not American, and in many instances in locations which are actually un-American.
It’s not too late to rectify this problem but you have to be active, you have to stay active, and you have to get others active. Today it’s someone else’s problem, job, tomorrow it may be yours. Do something now so you do not regret it later.
Baby boomers are now filing for social security, will it be there for you?
