The Lame Plame Blame Game Is Over, What A Shame

Slick Willy, Louie Da Weasil, the Teflon Don, no one has anything for Karl Rove. Karl Rove who has been President Bush’s senior political adviser is going to voluntarily step down from his White House post at the end of the month based on reports by senior Bush administration officials. Many say Rove is weaseling from Congressional subpoenas, others say he is leaving because times up, and still others are saying he is going dark so that he can begin to pull the strings for the 2008 Republicans. Regardless of what you believe and what you think about Rove, this man has altered your life, my life, and all of the lives of Americans both rich and poor. Karl Rove was given the name ‘The Architect’ by President Bush because of the magic Karl Rove appears to have the worked whenever a crisis called for some partisan magic. Republicans say that Rove is a great colleague, good pal and a radiant individual. However, many Democrats see Rove as a cold war cloak and dagger type individual who wields power like a back room low level Mafioso. Again, it matters not what you call Rove, what matters is how this genius affected the lives of Americans during the Bush Administration. What also matters is what Rove will do once he leaves the Bush Administration. Will he leave to go behind the scenes for Republicans or will he just sink into retirement? We must also move forward as a nation and quit the Val Plame Blame Game and move forward addressing he real needs of Americans and their fragile economy and quit trying to play pin the tail on the partisan.

Rove, who has held a top position in the White House since President Bush took office in 2001, has been the target of political sniping and so called partisan witch hunts ever since he came to prominence on the coat tails of President Bush. However, many say this is definitely a case of the tail wagging the dog and although Rove walks in behind President Bush he is never actually behind the man, he is merely assuming what he considers his position of power in the public eye. Many say Rove advises and leads the President around in much the same way many believe that Vice President Cheney leads the President. Many have said that Bush is merely the face for the two headed leadership of Cheney-Rove.

Rove kept the party line by stating, “I just think it’s time…There’s always something that can keep you here, and as much as I’d like to be here, I’ve got to do this for the sake of my family.”

The Democratic controlled Congressional subpoenas flying around Bush Administration officials are not the reason Rove is leaving according to Mister Karl Rove himself. However, those working the White House beat say that the subpoenas are the exact reason Rove has chosen to leave. Rove ha stated, “I know they’ll say that…But I’m not going to stay or leave based on whether it pleases the mob.”

Like him or hate him, you will soon not have Karl Rove in Washington to blame for the many messes now afflicting the United States. However, maybe karl Rove exemplifies the problem in Washington. We are so busy chasing the man and not resolving the problem we are getting lost in the details and losing the grip on global power and leadership. Maybe we just need to let Karl Rove and others like him go and get down to the real business of addressing the true problems of America and its economy and get our ship righted without worrying about who is to blame in regards to Valerie Plame.
