The War in Iraq jacked the price of gas, it is now over. The North Korean nuclear issue jacked the price of gas, it is now over. Hurricane Katrina jacked the price of gas, all of those issues have been addressed. Potential strikes in South America and Africa jacked the price of gas and all of the issues have been resolved. If the cost of catastrophe has been built into the price of a gallon of gas then why hasn’t the resolution of the reason for the hike caused a similar reduction in the cost of a gallon of gas? It’s simple, because big business and Wall Street don’t want to see a reduction in the price. Big business, and big oil, both jack you for prices and make record profits because no one in the Government stands up for you. You get ass raped and no one stands up in your defense. Current geo-political issues along with demand sees the price of oil at $29 a barrel but money making investors along with gigantic oil profits have enough power and influence to keep Washington at bay while you get feasted on like a vampires blood roll. It’s time American Government takes a stand and leads the world into a new oil purchasing era. Let’s get the BS out of the price and let’s have fair trade in this commodity and not allow oil to be a license for the rich to print money. This is not Oz, we should be able to see behind the curtain and know why the price of oil is as high as it is. There is nothing magical about oil so I must ask why the price stays so high in relation to the non-factors whci hare supposed to support the reasonable price of a barrel of oil. There is no reason for oil to be so high other than abuse and predatory practices and I want to know who is responsible and who is there to protect you and me from being robbed daily.
The first sign of a bad economy or a potential recession is the high cost of gas. This is because investors ramp up the hype to make a few bucks in gas and oil companies squeeze hapless consumers. It’s not fair and it’s definitely un-American to have big business prey on the average American consumer. We must also remember this is just not an American issue, it is a global issue, and the world needs to address it.
We must also remember that we spend billions fight Middle Eastern terrorism and then we give back millions to the same extremist governments to use their oil. Maybe if the price of oil was realistic these governments would not be able to support extremism in the manner in which they do.
There is no reason American consumers should be abused by Wall Street investing, Big Oil companies, and Middle Eastern extremists. Its time American politicans step up and enact legislation which helps the average consumer understand when and why they pay what they do for a gallon of gas. Let us see behind the curtain and know why the wizard is gas gouging us like he is doing.
