Lets Take Care Of America And Illegal Immigration

Why is there all this debate about security in Iraq when we here in America have not even secured our own borders? Matter of fact, many see the immigration bill in Washington as a failure and a way to bury the fact that the United States Government has not done enough to make Americans safe from illegal immigrants who could actually be terrorists. Republicans are only changing their opinion on the War in Iraq because they are afraid of the 2008 elections and not because they really have strong opinions that the war is going badly. Subsequently, the failure of the immigration bill to pass is based on the unhappiness of most Americans who in all reality do not want illegal immigrants to get citizenship. What has this proud country become? Our Government does not appear to do what is right until its election year and we cannot continue as a super power country by making decisions one year out of four every four years. It’s time we quite the BS and get down to business. We need more oil refineries, more tariff legislation, more outsourcing tax protection, more immigration security, and more tax dollars spend on education in America and not the Middle East, Africa, or Asia. It’s time we fix America and get back to looking towards the future and not spend every week worrying about job security and potential terrorist threats.

Senator Richard Lugar is right to split ranks with the Republicans because the decisions on the war should be made on intelligence and using intelligence they should not be based on party affiliation. In addition, the decision on immigration should be made the same way. Illegal immigration is ‘Illegal’ and illegal is not acceptable for any reason. Rather than try to just pass some legislation why don’t we fix the security and actually address the 11 million or so that are here illegally? If there are 11 million illegal immigrants and we have even a half way competent security force we should be able to catch and return a large majority of these people. Why should we just disregard the law in this instance and say o.k., you beat us, now go ahead and be a citizen? I am in no way against immigration I am against illegal immigration. Similarly, I am not against the war, I against being a night watchman after the war has been won.

When did our logic become so screwed up in America? When did it become o.k. to buy imports from China at an American store like Wal-Mart but not o.k. to buy a foreign companies’ car which is made right here in the United States by American workers? Can anyone explain to me the legitimacy? Our values have been manipulated and twisted to fit the needs of our political parties and we need to remember that we are all Americans and sometimes the good of all Americans exceeds the idiocy of political affiliation.

Lets lock up the borders, prosecute the criminals, create domestic jobs, and educate American children. Let’s take care of America
