Bring The Soldiers Home And Reinvest In America

More and more Republicans are beginning to say they want the United States to begin getting out of Iraq. With an overwhelming poll showing most Americans want us out of Iraq, and the majority of Democratic politicians want us out of Iraq, and a growing chorus of world leaders wants us out of Iraq, who other than Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, and Iran wants us in Iraq? American politicians are feeling the cash crunch at home and they want the eye of Government turned back on to the domestic United States and that is exactly where it should be. It’s time we get our heads out of the sand and shore up the domestic United States and take a breadth from being nurse Betty fro a while. Step back and let the Middle East see that all Radical Islam offers is hatred and destruction and then when they have no one else to blame they will see that they must eradicate radical Islam them selves. Right now Western culture is to blame for Islamic problems but if we back off and let radicalism self destruct then we will see moderation in the Middle East.

Lets reinvest some American taxpayer dollars in new infrastructure as well as new technology which will make America more competitive in the new global environment; this is how America will be safe. Russia, Iraq, and North Korea all relied on army strength and where did it get them? It’s time America smartens up and uses its brains rather than just it’s Brawn. When America is economically strong it is a world leader. It’s our economic prowess not our military which makes us who were are here in America. When the economy gets weak so does the military and that is when we will really be vulnerable.

Republican Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana has told the president he needs to change course in Iraq very soon and when Richard Lugar speaks politicians on both sides of the isle listen. Reportedly Lugar stated, “Our course in Iraq has lost contact with our vital national security interests in the Middle East and beyond. Our continuing absorption with military activities in Iraq is limiting our diplomatic assertiveness there and elsewhere in the world…no convincing evidence that Iraqis will make the compromises necessary to solidify a functioning government and society, even if we reduce violence to a point that allows for some political and economic normalcy.”

Osama Bin Laden said he would bleed America in the desert. The idiots thought he meant literally but the intelligent ones knew he meant economically. It was an idiot challenge and only an idiot would try to prove him wrong. We have won the war, and its up to Iraq to win its own future.

We all support the troops and regardless of when they come home they will be heroes and winners, it’s the politicians who failed us and they will be the losers. The soldiers fought the war, the politicians and policy makers forgot to plan for the aftermath. America and its sons and daughters should not be forced to pay the price of a failed policy over and over. America and its soldiers did its part, now its time for Government to do what’s right for America. Bring our soldiers home and reinvest back in America.
