The 2008 Presidential candidate who wins the election will have to be able to convince Americans of two things, the ability to create good paying American jobs and the ability to address our dire energy needs. The next President will have to oversee new manufacturing plants created throughout America. The new President will also have to oversee many more Ethanol plants, oil refineries, and numerous clean coal plants. The next President will have to get his head out of the Middle Eastern sand it get America back in the game of world leadership. Americans want good jobs, future job creation, and a much better energy policy. Who can give Americans what they want? We will see but the 2008 Presidential candidates are getting the message and hopefully one of them will have the right answers.
The next President will have the task of making America competitive in the global economy. The next President will have to enact policy that makes it profitable to keep companies investing and doing work right here in the domestic United States of America. The next President will have to offer domestic companies favorable tax legislation so that they see it is to their best advantage to keep the work they do right here in America. The next President will also have to make sure that there are plenty of jobs for our newly educated population.
In addition to job creation the next President will have to make sure that America becomes the world leader in Ethanol creation. We should see Ethanol pumps mandatory at every gas station. We should also have more oil refineries as well as improved refineries. Lastly, the next President needs to make sure that the United States has plenty of nuclear energy as well as clean coal power. Coal power is a great resource for the United States and we need to make sure there is a renewed interest and focus on this great resource.
So if it’s Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, John Edwards, John Kerry, or John McCain does not matter. What matters is that the next American President in 2008 needs to address the issues we just discussed.
