The United Nations has taken up the global warming debate and they have elevated it to a whole nother level. However, countries such as China and India want no part of the debate going on in the United Nations because they want their corporate greed to exceed humanities need and they both figure the global warming issue will be America or Europe’s problem. The Kyoto protocol was the previous hot topic and China and India both support the Kyoto protocol. Why do they support the Kyoto protocol and not the United Nations? It’s because China and India are not bound by the Kyoto protocol like Europe, Canada, Japan, and numerous other countries are. President Bush was right in not signing the Kyoto protocol as it is because as it currently is it does not stop China or India from polluting the world.
Imagine countries running out of water, vegetables, and then animals. If the globe continues to industrialize as it has the past ten years then that is exactly what we will have. There are only so many resources to go around and if we continue to use up what little we have at such a rampant rate we will only cause ourselves pain and suffering in the future. If every country in the world continues to industrialize while neglecting the Earths needs we will be heading directly into doomsday. It will not occur in the next ten or twenty years but thirty and forty years down the line it is beginning to look bleak. You may not worry but your kids and your grandchildren sure will. They will fight for food, energy, and even water.
The world cannot sustain industrialization in every corner and every crease. The world cannot continue to digest all of humanities waste and pollution without changing and becoming an earth far from what we currently know as Mother Earth.
Maybe its time the globalization and world economy slows down a little. Is it better to have a global economy superheated for ten years and then world poisoning for the next fifty or is it better to slow down a little and save the world and the future of humanity?
You can blow this issue off as fluff and hyperbole but the majority of intelligent individuals knows its true and the world, not America, or Europe, have to address this issue.
