The debate about funding the war in Iraq wages on in the United States but along with the war in Iraq is the war on American civil and social programs. Pick up any local paper such as the N.Y. Times, L.A. Times, Detroit News, Chicago Tribune, or the Detroit Free Press and you will read how state and federal programs are being cut or eliminated because of lack of funds. How can America cut programs in America while it sends billions to Africa, Afghanistan, and Iraq? How can poor African Americans be denied help with their heat and electric bills while American tax dollars go to fund fruit stands and carpet stalls in the Middle East and Asia? It’s ridiculous and when you consider the cost of the war in Iraq you really begin to grasp the hurt the United States is experiencing. I would never advocate under-funding our troops, instead I would advocate bringing them home. It’s time we put our soldiers back in a secured atmosphere and let the Middle East man up a little more for control of their destiny. Democracy is not Democracy if it is not wanted or accepted. It’s time we focus on American education and health and create some real American jobs instead of worrying about countries who have little or no regard for Americas’ own well being.
I do not care if it is argued on ‘ Meet the Press’ or ‘ Face the Nation’ or Fox News or the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, if it is in regards to spending more American tax dollars in foreign countries I am against it. I demand that each and every one of you reading this article tell your friends and get them on board. It’s time we take back our countries destiny and not destroy it by wasting valuable tax dollars in a money pit destined to bring financial ruin to the United States.
Osama Bin Laden said he will bleed the United States dry in the deserts of the Middle East. He said this was a metaphor showing how he will financially damage the United States. When you consider the Federal Deficit along with our debt to China and the situations in many states where federal and state programs are getting cut and you see he is staying true to his word and bleeding America as he said he would. When you consider the war on terror objectively you can see that we are spinning our wheels in the Middle East with little or no progress. The progress is not only from lack of effort it is also from the Middle Eastern mindset; they really do not want change at his time.
I say its time we invest much more heavily in the united States and the children of our future. It’s time we give them better education, high speed internet access, and better health care options. We must also provide them with much more after school activities and many more educational assistance tools. We must also help the poor and underprivileged by providing federal and state funds for all children to get a college education. Why build schools in the Middle East when we have decaying and decrepit schools in the United States?
Corporate American and Big Business may have sold America out but you do not have to. Rage against the man like your hippy moms and pops did. Stand up against the system and make the system work for the children of America. American boys and girls deserve a bright future they do not deserve to state down hopelessness. Let’s fund our Department of Human Services programs so that they have the proper funding to take care of American children in need. We also need the DHS system funded to help the poor and needy as well.
