OPEC Colludes To Screw Americans On Gas And Oil Prices

Americans, and global citizens for that matter, are being screwed on gas prices and the reasons for the prices are based on pure speculation and in small part a legalized collusion. Collusion in most parts of the developed world is an illegal business practice yet for some reason OPEC sneaks by and past this lawful barrier. Collusion takes place within an industry when competitive companies cooperate for their common benefit. Collusion takes place in a market where the decision of a few firms to collude significantly impacts the market as a whole. We must remember that collusion is largely illegal in the United States, Canada and majority of the European Union. OPEC takes advantage of speculation and collusion to screw the average consumer and pad their pockets with your hard earned dollars. It’s time Americans got tough on our Government and forced them to address the energy concerns of the United States and the future needs of our country.

OPEC is the acronym for the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). OPEC is a permanent inter-governmental organization, made up of 12 oil producing and exporting countries, spread across three continents America, Asia and Africa. The members are Algeria, Angola, Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates & Venezuela. Notice anything familiar here? The majority of these countries despise U.S. interests and the more we pay for oil the more we support countries with adversarial ideas about the United States. It’s time we take steps to make America more independent of OPEC and it’s time we do this now.

The OPEC countries have a total population of about 556 million and for nearly all of them, oil is the main marketable commodity and foreign exchange earner. If we really want to change policy in the Middle East and South America we need to take oil away from these countries as a weapon. If oil becomes a second thought in America then the Middle east could not wield it as a weapon. We need more North American energy projects and more Ethanol factories.

For most OPEC countries, oil is the vital key to economic, social, and political development. Their oil revenues are to expand their economic and industrial base. We need to marginalize this good as a cash cow so that OPEC becomes more reasonable rather than more monopolizing.

OPEC was established for three purposes:
1. To co-ordinate and unify the petroleum policies of the Member Countries and to determine the best means for safeguarding their individual and collective interests;
2. To seek ways and means of ensuring the stabilization of prices in international oil markets, with a view to eliminating harmful and unnecessary fluctuations; and
3. To provide an efficient economic and regular supply of petroleum to consuming nations and a fair return on capital to those investing in the petroleum industry.

However, all it appears OPEC does is collude and profit. It’s time we end this illegal practice and move forward with our American agenda.
