Where Is American Support For Domestic America?

Today it’s their job tomorrow it may be yours. Look around you; do you really see the economic development and progress you remember your parents enjoying? How can we become more educated, more automated, and more technical, yet also become more unemployed? Take a cruise through Flint Michigan or Detroit Michigan and then try and answer this question. Flint is called the Auto city and Detroit motor city, but both are leading the state of Michigan in unemployment and loss of the American dream. Flint has suffered from disinvestment, deindustrialization, and depopulation; Detroit is slowly going down the same path. With so many Americans down on their luck why are we so focused on Iraq and Afghanistan? Why should domestic Americans suffer while hostile foreign countries get billions in American aid? We pay our taxes for American needs and not those of hostile foreign countries.

We outsource so much we have become at risk to foreign countries shipping us bad or dangerously made products. Consider the dangerous wheat germ found in the pet food that has killed hundreds and thousands of beloved pets. Numerous reports say the danger came from un-inspected wheat germ from China. Is this what we have come to? Are we going to sacrifice our safety and well being for cheap foreign imports? If your bags of rice or wheat is tainted next then what will we do? It’s time we take care of Americans with American made products. It’s time we put Americans to work taking care of Americans and let the rest of the world play catch up once again.

We are all sick of hearing about investment in China and India, where is the investment in the United States? And if China and India are so economically strong then why aren’t they footing more of the bills for world crisis? Why should American dollars go to Africa instead of Flint or Detroit when other countries like India and China contribute nothing?

It’s time we take care of Americans first with American dollars and let the rest of the world worry about them selves for a while. Until all Detroiters and Flint natives have strong secure futures I cannot accept foreign aid in the billions going outside the country, it needs to go to our fellow Americans at home first.

Let’s take some of this aid money and create new Ethanol factories in America, let’s create domestic jobs while alleviating our dependence on foreign fuels. Come on 2008 Presidential Candidates, we are watching.
