It’s Time America Stands Up To Energy Robber Barons

America has desperate energy needs, a need to create new markets and jobs, and a need for more oil refineries. With all of these needs why has America not moved forward faster into the creation of more Ethanol plants and the creation of more oil refineries? It would be so easy for America to address their energy needs of they only looked to them selves for the answer. Rather than waste billions in Iraq we should be spending millions in America building new refineries and creating more ethanol production plants. And while I am on my energy rant I want to ask why OPEC is allowed to manipulate the oil market like no other entity is allowed to in the world? If America had a cure for cancer would they dominate it like OPEC does with oil? I think not. If the Bird Flu outbreak occurs you can bet OPEC counties will be lining up for the cure from America, should we treat them like they do us in regards to oil? If America cures aids should we charge OPEC like they do us for oil? It’s time America marginalizes OPEC once and for all by enacting real legislation in America and enforce a real energy plan which calls for the creation of more ethanol plants and more oil refineries while also providing Americans with real jobs. It’s time we quit giving OPEC our hard earned dollars, it’s time we keep more American money right here in America.

It’s time Americans force their politicians to get tough on energy issues. It’s time we force our Government to step up and do something about Americas’ energy needs. March Madness is not the NCAA College Basketball Tournament; it is the fact that the price of a gallon of gas has already reached $2.55 a gallon. It’s time we quit paying so much attention to something as trivial as college basketball and focus on something more important like the future of America.

I bet many of you did not know that President Bush just spent the past week in South America and Mexico touting job creation and energy production, isn’t this something he should have been doing here in America? While you and I are sitting here watching college basketball our future is slipping away. It’s time we grab a hold of our future and make it something worthwhile.

It’s time you find out who your elected Senator and Representative is and you write or call him\her. It’s time you quit watching basketball and took a hold of your future. If you don’t like paying $2.55 a gallon in March then do something about it. Quit complaining and be constructive.

Go ahead and enjoy the NCAA College basketball Tournament but take some time to address the other March Madness which is the lack of real effort by our politicians on the energy needs and job creation issue in America.
