The Democrats are chasing President Bush with the same lunacy they say President Bush chased Saddam Hussein and the Iraq war. If they say Bush wasted time and resources then what are they doing? Why is congress and in particular the Democrats wasting so much time discussing non-binding resolutions in regards to the President and his Iraq strategy. Sticks and stones will not hurt his bones and non-binding resolutions will never hurt him. Say what you want about President Bush but he is his own man and he will not deter from his course regardless of public opinion or catcalls from the gallery. It’s time we as a country move on and address the war with real fact filled binding resolutions or just quit with the harassment. We need more educational development, more after school programs, and more federal assistance for the poor and sick of America. It’s time we focus on improving our lives and quit poking the bear with a long bamboo stick. Going after the President is a waste of time and energy and realistically he does not deserve it. There are bigger fish to fry and we need to get focused again as a nation or we will be blown out of the water during the 21st century.
Say what you want but non-binding resolutions hold no power in Washington and in reality they are nothing more than style points for the Democrats. When the new Democrats got elected to the Congress and senate they promised real change. In reality they are acting much like they say President Bush did pre-war.
It’s time we hold our Congress and Senate to a high standard. Regardless if the politicians we have are Democratic or Republican we need them to address our important needs which are education, job creation, and civil services.
As many gear up for the NCAA basketball tournament they will delve deep into basketball statistics and trends. These same individuals should devote some of this much needed time to also understand their political statistics and economic indicators. It does us no good to know our college basketball regional’s and not know our leading economic indicators. How can we hold our politicians responsible when we know more about the NCAA basketball tournament then we do about our elected politicians and their political platforms? It’s time to have some fun but at the same time we should remember our responsibility to ourselves and our children.
We need to hold the President, our Congress, and our Senate to a high standard but we also need to make sure we hold ourselves to a high standard as well.
