Wall Street rebounded on Wednesday after a very tumultuous trading day Tuesday but what Black Tuesday did show us is that we have to build a stronger domestic economic base if we want to maintain our safety and surety in today’s modern climate of globalization. We do not want to be China’s bitch, or Indias’ bitch, or any other countries bitch. We need to make sure we have a strong manufacturing and technology base right here in the domestic United States of America and we need it right now.
The fact that China makes decisions regarding their own economy should have little or no effect on America. However, Americans have become so economically dependent on China we have become helpless victims to their whim. Many say China may have pulled the plug on their market just to show the United States who is boss in modern times. Do you believe that is the case? Many do. Regardless of whether you believe it to be fact or not you cannot dismiss how badly America reacted to Chinas’ actions. This little Black Tuesday should be referred to as caffeine Tuesday because it should be seen as the caffeine jolt that shocked America back to consciousness.
We need to digest the happenings of that day and apply the lessons learned to our modern way of doing business in America. We need our Government to become more focused on domestic job growth as well as make them become more active in our children’s education. An educated nation will not make the same mistakes we have been making the past twenty years.
We also need more investment in domestic infrastructure. We need better roads, more cheaply available high speed internet access, and a more updated electrical grid. We also need better funded civil programs and more funds for entrepreneurs trying to open businesses domestically.
Lastly we need real action on removing us from foreign oil dependence. We need better energy alternatives and more Ethanol support.
