You would think that the Hillary Clinton announcement of a potential presidential candidate would have dominated the news this past weekend but once again Americas’ main news regards the Middle East and not domestic America. On Meet The Press Sunday Ted Kennedy and John McCain both appeared at different times to discuss the Middle East and had almost no mention of presidential concerns for themselves or their parties during their talks rather instead they answered questions on Iraq and Afghanistan. Now there is talk that Jordan and Saudi Arabia want nuclear technology for nuclear weapons to prepare themselves for what they see as Iranian Shiite domination and militancy spreading in the Middle East. As we try to bring democracy in Iraq we may be missing the bigger picture of the potential nuclear arms race developing in the Middle East. Turkey will not stand for a nuclear Iran and neither will Israel. Syria supports Iran and will do all that it can to support Shiite domination throughout the Middle East regardless of what has to be done to bring this about. Add all this together and the Middle East is much more than just a chaotic Iraq.
Where does the world turn? What can be done to stop the escalating arms race beginning in the Middle East? When the Middle East becomes nuclear what will stop Pakistan from joining up with them to bring down India and Afghanistan as they have always desired. We must also remember that China is now secretly dealing with Muslim extremist uprisings on its far western and southern borders. Asia will not stand idly by and watch a nuclear Middle East grow without itself ratcheting up its nuclear arsenal. We must also remember that at one time MAD-mutually assured destruction kept all from using nuclear missiles but Jihadists have not problem blowing themselves up for their cause so imagine the price they would be willing to pay to be the one who nuked Israel, or India. The threat of nuking them would only be idiotically turned into some sick form of martyrdom to the fundamentalist idiot types.
I am soo sick and tired of Middle Eastern events dominating my American news casts but in the case of a nuclear arms race in the Middle East I do not mind. What I do mind is that counties throughout the world are avoiding the subject thinking if they close their eyes the big bad monster will just go away. However, this is not the case. The Islamic extremists currently hi-jacking the Islamic religion will threaten each and every country once they have nuclear power. This is not the moderate type of Islamic leadership we have experienced in the world before, the new fundamentalist leadership is hell-bent on destruction and denomination and the loss of life to them means very little.
Americans should be interested in who their next President will be, whether it’s Obama, Clinton, McCain, or whomever. However, the world should be concerned about the arms race secretly growing in the Middle East.
