President Bush Goes At Iraq Jehovahs Witness Style

President Bush is floating out his trial balloon for the new policy in Iraq and obviously he has exhausted all avenues of intelligence and he is going to go with the Jehovah’s Witness technique of knocking on the doors of the Iraqi’s and asking them if they are aware of the new policies being enforced in Iraq and asking them if they want to be a part of the new Government. I sure would like to see their success rate as compared to Jehovah Witness door-knockers here in America. At least all the door-knockers here in America get is a slammed door or an unanswered door bell, the proud military in Iraq knocking on doors will not be so lucky. Is this really the policy, are we really going to go back to the door by door technique we tried earlier? Please someone tell me that we have more in store than this. I also cannot see how President Bush feels creating 20 to 40 thousand more targets in Iraq will help anything if we do not change the status quo in Iraq. I also want to know how this President can keep asking us for more and more money for rebuilding Iraq when we need it much more right here at home. Maybe President Bush should visit Flint Michigan and spend a few rebuilding dollars right there.

Reportedly President Bushs’ new policy in Iraq will call for increasing the number of U.S. troops in Baghdad by over 20,000 sons and daughters. If we end the war in Iraq within the next year than I am all for this new strategy but if we are sending these brave souls to Iraq for more of the same stuck in the mud bullshit then this should not be accepted. We also must quit emptying Americas’ pocketbooks for a country that has done nothing to help itself. Americans do not owe any debt to Iraq so why are we sacrificing so much? Who in the Bush Administration do these guys have pictures of?

Any WMD’s in Iraq have been found and destroyed. Saddam has been removed from power and executed. We have provided democratic elections. We have done everything asked of us and so I must now ask, “Why are we still there?” Running their country is not our deal, it’s on them. It’s time we get on to the business of domestic America and not contemplate door-knocking strategies.

As absurd as it sounds reportedly the new doorknocker strategy is a go and the only debate within the Bush Administration has been whether to send all of the troops at once in a sort of ‘big bang’ move’ , or phase them in from month to month. Reports from Washington insiders say the Bush Administration is favoring a phased approach but many say this will result in quick adaptation by the insurgency and will do little to resolve the insurgency issues in Iraq.

Finally someone with some brains has stood up and publicly questioned the new strategy. Newly elected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated that if President Bush calls for additional U.S. troops for Iraq, he will have to Congress why more men and women as well as additional money should be added to the already overspent and costly war.
