The Way Forward In Iraq Sucks

Why do they keep talking about Iraq like they are a bunch of 4 year olds? I hear how we have to keep training them and teaching them but it never appears we ever assign them any responsibility. These jokers are smart enough to build bombs, shoot RPG’s, assemble assault weapons, and plant road side explosives. However, when you listen to politicians supporting the war in Iraq all you hear is that we need to keep training the Iraqi population. If you ask me they appear pretty smart already. The Bush Administration gives the opinion we are training pre-schoolers in Iraq, the reality is we are not. Iraqi’s are smart enough to handle their business; we need to be smart enough to let them. Many Americans are starting to believe we are being used like idiots in Iraq and they believe its time we quit supporting this country in the manner we currently are. It’s like we are being scammed by a bunch of welfare cheaters and we are oblivious to the scam.

Iraq has drained America to a point where Americans are now starting to suffer. We are losing civil services, school programs, and vital infrastructure dollars. While America is draining itself Iraq is just toiling along saying they want Americans out of their country while at the same time asking for more and more of our money. This rhetoric is typical of numerous parts of the world. Many countries hostile to America want our jobs, our dollars, and our assistance while at the same time never wanting our presence. How hypocritical is this stance? Yet we still try and give and give while idiotic businesses move work to these areas. Maybe it’s time we rethink our policies and address the world in the same manner we are addressed. How many times can you extend a helping hand only to get your face slapped because it’s attached to the helping hand?

Iraq needs to have the training wheels taken off so that we can see if these riders are as ready as they say they are. For some reason we want to stay in Iraq when all others want us out. If Iraq wants us out, and they say we are the problem, then why does the Bush Administration want to stay so badly? Iraq says they want us out and we say we have to train them, which statement is the truth? Do they really want us out or are they really a bunch of idiots who need continuous training? It appears to me that with a large population that understands how to murder with modern devices so well they are not as dumb as we think, our problem is we have not dealt properly with the racist element in Iraq and the weak politicians who are trying to run this country.

Lastly, quit using the moniker ‘the way forward’ in regards to Iraq. The term the way forward is never good, it is usually a slogan stated after failure. Companies will advise of their way forward plan after failing, groups and organizations will utilize this slogan after dealing with the ramifications of failures or scams. Americans hear the slogan the way forward and we think of how Ford Motors is laying of thousands. Get a better slogan.
