Time To Take Iraqs’ Training Wheels Off

A part of me just like a part of you wanted the United States to go into Iraq and kick Sadaams’ tail. We wanted justice for 9/11 and we thought that Afghanistan was not enough. However, this is why you and me are not President right now and someone with a better head on his shoulders is, or so we hope. We have now been in Iraq as long as we fought the allies during World War Two and what real progress do we have to show for it? It’s time to flip the script, scrap the crap, change the range, etc..al. We need to get our business closed in Iraq and move on to more pressing domestic issues. It’s time to quit throwing good money after bad in Iraq, we need to make them stand on their own two feet and make them responsible for their country. The training wheels need to come off and the Iraqi citizens need to reclaim their country. They wanted Sadaam removed and we did this, now let’s see how great the Iraqi people really are. Will they rise to greatness or succumb to racist behavior? Will they become the Middle Eastern Mecca for greatness or will the sink to Neanderthal barbarianism? It’s time we get out of Iraq and see what they will truly become. They say that eventually a mans true nature will rise to the surface, lets see what Iraqis are made of.

America has sacrificed a lot for the sake of the Iraqi people. However, it appears that Muqtadr al-Sadr is sitting there like the fat cat waiting to try and take over the country in much the same manner as the religious leaders in Iran have usurped leadership power. Have we merely traded a political dictatorship for a religious dictatorship? What are the plans to actually exit Iraq? We may not want to set an exact deadline but please someone tell me we have an exit strategy. I get the feeling at times that we were not prepared to stay in Iraq and now more and more I get the feeling we have no real plan to ever exit Iraq. I get the feeling this current Administration wants this mess to carry on until at least the next presidential election so that it becomes someone else’s problem, do many of you feel the same?

I think America needs to demand answers, demand accountability, and demand this failed policy be concluded. America cannot keep pouring its resources into a region where most likely chaos and racism will reign supreme for some time. As we spend resources trying to sustain Iraq our terrorist enemies are spending money planning how to attack America once again. We need to better spend our resources and plan our steps of action. We will not lose this war, that’s physically impossible. However, we can fail the policy and the longer we draw this out the closer our Iraq strategy comes to becoming a failed policy.

America has given Iraq the boost it needs, its time Iraqi’s take control and show us just how manly they are. Anyone can give up and join the insurgency but let’s see the true modern day leaders of Iraq step up and unite a country and tame an insurrection. We know the Iraqi people know how to kill and destroy, can they show us they now how to build and create? It’s time we find out.
