While the United States elected a now Congress, Senate, and Governorship, countries south of the United States were busy with their own elections and there elections will have an effect on America whether we like it or not. Has anyone noticed that South America has been recently electing more and more anti-American leadership? Does this concern anyone? If Nicaragua, Or Valenzuela, wanted to let a hostile military force base operations in their countries what could America do? If China, Iran, or even North Korea wanted forward operating bases in these countries how safe would America be? Are our newly elected politicians’ going to reconsider the Central American Free Trade Agreement? Will our newly elected politicians address the anti-American sentiment growing in our own hemisphere? And can we really be expected to have free trade with countries openly hostile to the United States? These are all important relevant questions for our fresh-faced newly elected politicians.
As far as our domestic concerns, what will our newly elected politicians do now that they have gotten their wish and they are sworn to loyalty for the American people? Will these newly elected politicians address the outsourcing problems like they said they would? Will they work as diligently as possible to make sure America is promoting domestic American businesses like they promised or will these newly elected politicians soon become swayed by lobbying misdeeds and political partisan rhetoric? Who will stand up and make America the proud country it deserves to be? Where is the next great leader? Was he elected this year? Have we nominated our future President into the Senate or Congress? I hope as many else do that we have elected new politicians whose focus is on domestic America and her concerns much more than they are on citizens of hostile countries half way around the world. How many times can Americans go without while Washington gives away the kitchen to foreign countries? Will our newly elected politicians reverse the trend of outsourcing jobs and monies?
There have been recent riots in Mexico and these riots have been larger than previous riots, will Mexico gain better control of their vast local governments or will we continue to see a very disorganized country with little real control of its country outside of a few major areas? What dangers do the hostile countries in South America and Central America actually pose to Mexico, Canada, and the United States?
You may not think these issues are big now but just wait, once these rotten eggs hatch their government chicks we will have a much different dynamic in our hemisphere. As we continue to outsource our economic resources we are weakening our domestic position. Other countries now see us as a country divided with little or no real country loyalty. They see major corporations closing their doors on American citizens while opening doors in other countries and they feel this is a sign of how America is fragmenting and becoming weak. Are they correct? Time will tell. I believe as most in America that we are strong and united but the overall world perception is vastly different.
Our newly elected politicians will have a lot of work to do and they will not have as much time to get up to speed as their predecessors. I only hope and pray they do a good and just service to the American public. We need politicians focused on domestic America and her concerns. We also need them to consider the changing dynamic of our hemisphere.
