Dick Cheney is saying the terrorists want you to vote Democrat, this is the most absurd political rhetoric I have heard this election season. The Vice President says that the terrorists would love to see a Democratic Congress and Senate because it would weaken our support abroad. Maybe the Veep is too busy reloading for lawyer hunting season again but in case he hasn’t noticed two of our supposedly most trusted allies on the war on terror are publicly Jonesing us to the world and they are far from any type of friend I would consider genuine. The Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has cowered to the demands of Muqtadr al-Sadr and demanded American checkpoints be removed immediately in and around areas adjacent to al-Sadr city. You also have the Pakistani Government doing everything they can to deny they are in any way helping America root out terrorists from their country, a large contingent of Pakistani politicians quit their jobs in protest of a Pakistani attack on a well known terrorist training school. Yeah, these two bumbling situations make me believe that the terrorists want new leadership badly. The terrorists are running amuck in and around Iraq and we are no further along in the wqr on terror today than we were September 12th 2001. Most believe its time for a change, a major change.
In Pakistan we have a Pakistani army spokesman stating that they used intelligence from the U.S.-led coalition forces in a helicopter attack that left 80 people dead. However, soon after the attack hundreds and thousands of angry tribesmen protested angrily about the Pakistani governments actions over the killings. To top it off according to CNN, “ Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan, the chief army spokesman, told The Associated Press that American forces did not take part in Monday’s attack on a religious school, or madrassa, that Pakistan called a front for an Al Qaeda training camp. But he said his government received intelligence as part of long-standing cooperation with the U.S.-led coalition forces in Afghanistan to battle terrorists operating along the porous border between the countries.”Intelligence sharing was definitely there, but to say they (the coalition) have carried out the operation, that is absolutely wrong,” Sultan said. “One doesn’t know … what was the percentage of help (was provided).”Sultan later contacted the AP to deny he had made the remarks.” This sure sounds like a dependable friend to me.
And next time you hear of a company outsourcing to Pakistan remember the scene soon after the terrorists killings took place. According to CNN, “As many as 20,000 people protested Tuesday in Khar, the main town in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal Bajur district, claiming innocent students and teachers were killed in the attack. They chanted: “God is Great!” “Death to Bush! Death to Musharraf!” and “Anyone who is a friend of America is a traitor!…We will continue our jihad (holy war)! We will take revenge for the blood of our martyrs!” a local Islamic cleric, Maulana Roohul Amin, yelled into a loudspeaker at the rally. “The forces of infidelity are trying to erase us from existence!”In the northwestern city of Peshawar, 500 members of a hard-line Islamic group burned an effigy of President Bush and denounced Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf. A smaller protest was also held in the southern city of Multan.”
Then you have the pansy Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki ordering the removal of U.S. and Iraqi military checkpoints from Sadr City. Reportedly the order was in response to Muqtada al-Sadral-Sadr and his threat to shut down the area in and around Sadr City. Al-Sadr wants his own militia to control the area in and around Sadr City and the Iraqi Prime Minister is allowing al-sadr to set policy in his region. Many also feel al-Sadr is a pawn of the religious Shiite leadership in Iran and many believe al-Sadr has been promised a strong leadership role in Iraq once Iran has assimilated Iraq into its fold.
Yeah, with all of this mess and non-production I could see how the terrorist would want change. The environments the current Middle Eastern terrorists operate in are so ideal they most likely never want change. They have a failed American policy being backed by two-faced alliances. Cheney needs a better line than this if he wants us to swing our vote based on this line of thought.
How right you are, just look at how many terrorists are coming from Pakistan and Afghanistan, it’s crazy. When is something real going to be done about Pakistan, it’s rediculous. We all know thery are the ones harboring themajority ofterrorists. Take out the Pakistani problem and shut down the Iranian support and Muslim extremism will go away.
