America is fighting the war on terror to try and create a free Iraq. However, Iraq and it’s government are cow-tailing to religious leaders who are backed by militant religious militias. Have we merely replaced political tyrant with a religious dictator? Sadaam Hussein had a Christian in his government; I see no signs of Christianity represented at all in Iraq. As a matter of fact, Christians are now being openly persecuted in Iraq. There is also a growing amount of support to both sides of the sectarian war in Iraq by Iran. How can we have misjudged the situation so badly? Do we really have an answer to end this conflict on a positive? My last and most important question is my interest on how America can be supporting a new leader who cowers in fear of a militia leader and his followers? Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki talks and acts like a pansy when confronted about Moqtadr al sadr and his Mehdi milita. We must also remember that it is the cowards who make the greatest dictators and with al-Maliki and al-Sadr you have the makings of a gigantic pansy-fest.
Al-Maliki talks tough with America because he knows America will not harm him. However, like a whiney bitch he cries and acquiesces for al-Sadr and his followers> Even Iraqi’s are wondering aloud is al-Maliki is that much of a coward? We must legitimately ask ourselves, “Has America thrown its hat behind a loser in Iraq?” It takes a leader with backbone to manage a country such as Iraq and many feel that the insurgency in Iraq will continue because Iran and Syria recognize weak leadership in Iraq and they will do whatever it takes to assure chaos is the order of the day so that Iraq stays a miserable mess until its citizens are broke and actually turn on the coalition and seek Iran and Syria’s help to resolve their issues. This will be a political and public relations nightmare for all westernized countries with a presence in the Middle east.
Iraq does not need a Ghandi right now they need a General Pattton. Iraq needs an iron fisted ruler who will lay down the law at all costs and will ignore sectarian and religious differences and make the right hard decisions. Right now we have a bunch of whining crying pansies living in and running the country of Iraq. We need a leader who will emerge as the glue that holds that country together and gets order restored.
Numerous individuals feel the al-Sadr is just biding time before he tries to overthrow the government in Iraq with support by the Shiite dominated government of Iran. The clock is ticking and the sand is leaving the hourglass. We need a resolution to this uissue and we need it quickly. I do not care if it’s timelines, quotas, milestones, or hard dates. We need to get a strong leader in office in Iraq and hammer out the situation so that in two years all is rosy and well and we have a true friend in the Middle East and not just another Vietnam.
