Even the idiots in Iraq running the Sunni insurgency can see what is occurring in Iraq, the Iranian influence is growing and as America fights the Sunni insurgency they are actually empowering the Iranian influence that much more. How much more flawed can our Iraqi policy become? We have eliminated the check and balance system in Iraq with no regards to the resulting situation. We have eliminated the Apex Predator and elevated another dastardly beast to the top of the Iraqi food chain. We must work with the Sunni’s to assure a fair and stable transition, its time to embrace the insurgency in talks and end what is becoming an Iranian win in Iraq.
al Sadr is basically running his little part of Baghdad with little or no resistance. Al Sadr is also wielding influence and power based on his alliance with the Iranian Shiite’s. Iran is sitting back while America does their dirty work. While we plan to fight the insurgency Iran is planning on taking over after the insurgency, whose policy is more in line to actually be a success? You bette think hard before you just knee-jerk react.
A recent video released in Iraq by Ibrahim al-Shimary. al-Shimary is a spokesman for the Sunni insurgent group called the Islamic Army of Iraq, in the video he states “America and Iran are occupying Iraq. America is the disease which caused the symptom which is the Iranian occupation, but today, the symptom has become more dangerous than the disease.” This is coming directly from an insurgent leader on the ground in Iraq, you may not like the man but you have to take heed of his words because he is probably giving one of the most open and honest views of the Iraqi situation you will hear.
Is America just paving the way for an Iranian takeover of Iraq? Are we wasting valuable time and money being Irans’ bitch-boy in Iraq? Why has the Iranian influence being felt in Iraq not being dealt with more severely? When will we openly and honestly reassess our Iraq policy so that we can quit being stubborn and move on to winning this war and making this policy a success?
