War On Terror Needs New Focus

President Bush ahs advised that he would enter Pakistan if he had to in order to get Osama Bin Laden. However, Pakistan has said he will not, at least without their approval. So where does this issue stand? Could we get him if we had him in our sights? Would Pakistan warn him like they have previously and once again let public enemy #1 escape? I also wonder how Pakistan and Afghanistan can be such allies in the war on terror yet neither has really done anything but make treaties with the al-Qaeda factions in their countries? And what about Iran? Everyone knows it is Iran that is the tent pole holding up radical Islam throughout the world, if Iran was to have its clerical leadership replaced why truly elected officials then the majority of financed terror in the world would stop. So why not eliminate the Iranian problem first and then watch the radical cookie crumble? It’s Thailand and Afghanistan today, tomorrow it may be your country, if you don’t think it can happen you better think again. Radicalism needs to be abolished all together and most believe Iran is the key, if they fall by the wayside as an enabler then the Islamic radical movement will deteriorate.

Even though most know Iran is the key to fundamentalist terror these days we are still making token fights against terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq. There is also the specter of a marginalized Osama Bin Laden, this guy cannot even travel openly, how powerful can he really be other than a poster boy for countries who try and utilize him as propaganda for their war on terror policies? Policies based on Bin Laden are useless in modern times; a lot has changed in five years. We must now focus on the root cause and support for terrorism and all eyes still point to Iran. The Iranian people are not necessarily hostile towards the world but the radical clerics who run the country are and they control the megalomaniac president of Iran and most of the Iranian politicians and military. These clerics do not want any form of moderation in the Middle East because it threatens their Shiite power, they want to control the region through their religious clout which is really a disguise for their political and racial aspirations.

Let’s not forget Pakistan. They have a Muslim movement dedicated to the destruction of India. Pakistan has also has said it won’t allow U.S. troops to operate within its territory even if Bin Laden was located in Pakistan. Pakistan’s president, General Pervez Musharraf stated to reporters recently at the United Nations that his government would not allow any American military action in its country.

According to CNN, “Pakistani authorities recently signed a peace agreement with pro-Taliban tribal leaders in the country’s restive northwest after two years of clashes with the traditionally autonomous tribes that left more than 600 Pakistani troops dead.”

NATO troops are fighting a Taliban resurgence in southeastern Afghanistan with little or no Afghan and Pakistani help. Meanwhile, both Afghanistan and Pakistan resume accusing each other of not acting reasonably to capture pro-Taliban militants sneaking between the border countries.

The U.N. Security Council has called on Iran to stop its uranium enrichment efforts but Iran continues in defiance. As each day goes by so does the chance for a peaceful resolution. We must also remember that this radical Islamic leader would love nothing more than to nuke Israel and then die as a supposed martyr for the radical Muslim cause. How much longer can the world wait? Should we wait until Israel is under red alert? President Bush was correct when he stated, “My judgment is you’ve got to take everybody’s word seriously in this world…You can’t just hope for the best…You’ve got to assume that the leader, when he says that he would like to destroy Israel, means what he says. If you say, ‘Well, gosh, maybe he doesn’t mean it,’ and you turn out to be wrong, you have not done your duty as a world leader.” Many say that we must not forget, Iran is run by an Islamic republic led by religious clerics. They would not mind going down in history as the group of clerics who took the Zionist nation out forever. We must deny them this by all means.
