What Is Coca Cola Doing On 9/12?

Screw what you thought about the Presidents’ partisan speech last night, look what Coke did on 9/12. Coke is providing jobs to both Pakistan and Afghanistan. They will take our jobs but they will not take our people? They will cash their American paid paychecks but they will not give us Bin Laden? How can Coke do business in a country that has leaders who openly declared war on the United States? How can Pakistan accept Coke but not American Coke drinkers? How can they take our American jobs while also harboring Americas’ number one enemy? Easy, they will take our cash and use it against us, it’s as easy as that, or at least it seems. How can we create jobs in a country harboring Bin Laden and many of his minions? I just don’t get it.

Many are upset with Coke but many are also upset with President Bush today. Many feel that President Bush tried to utilize the oval office in conjunction with the remembrance of 9/11 to try and swing some political pull towards the Republican Party and his party’s support of the war on Iraq. The Bush detractors were out in groves trying to state to anyone who would listen that they felt it was despicable that the president gave such a partisan speech on a day of such somber remembrance and bipartisan union. However, Coke made a planned announcement today that was just as cowardly as the hijacker’s actions on 9/11. They announced their new plant on 9/12 rather than 9/11. I wonder why? If they knew over the weekend why did they not release this information Monday rather than Tuesday? Build it there and sell it there, don’t even think about shipping any of it made there back to domestic America.

Needless to say both sides are claiming their own position on the speech and just like all of the other convoluted issues involved with 9/11, it is a matter of opinion and it will be best if we just a agree to disagree and move on.

However, here is a juicy tidbit that got released 9/12 and not on 9/11. Coca Cola has opened a bottling factory in the heart of Afghanistan, Kabul to be exact. This company has opened a factory in the country where the terrorists of 9/11 practiced and honed their skills. They opened a factory in a country still mostly in control by the Taliban. Imagine every time you drink a coke it is this company who is supplying jobs to the very individuals who plotted, protected, and cared for the 9/11 hijackers. I guess if they would have done more damage they might have gotten two factories.

I have no problem with Coke building and selling Coke in Afghanistan but Congress better make sure not one Coke from Afghanistan enters domestic America. I also think we need to ask Afghanistan and Pakistan why they have not given up Bin Laden and his minions, we really need to know.
