It will be 5 years since the tragic events of 9-11 and all we have to show for our efforts since then is a huge federal deficit, a Middle eastern country on the brink of civil war, and so many illegal immigrants in our country that we have declared the situation hopeless, and now we have iran threatening to go nuclear on us. Where have we really gone since 9-11 and were are we headed? Congress and the Senate are so focused o nthe Presidents terrorism initiatives that they are failing to see that their failing economic policies are actually weakening America more than any terrorist plots or activities have prior to, and since, 9-11.
Reportedly in Austria the talks meant to give Iran a last opportunity to steer clear of U.N. sanctions over its nuclear position were postponed. Reportedly the meeting was postponed based on a procedural matter but does it really matter why? This country is cat and mousingthe world and America is so befuddled right now we are not even in the proper position to deal with these jokers. How can we be so unfocused here domestically and so unaffecting abroad? Where has the juice of the American government gone? Have we outsourced so much that we now have no backbone left?
According to CNN, “As of Wednesday, diplomats and European officials said Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator had still not confirmed if he would meet with the European Union’s foreign policy chief.” How can such an important meeting just be blown off? Easy, the world in that area is in such disarray no one really knows how to handle it any longer. The world will pay the price if this extremist country does develop nuclear weapons because they would have no problem starting a nuclear war. These radicals attach themselves to bicycle bombs, do you really think they are afraid of a retaliatory nuclear strike? They will consider themselves martyrs and move forward. How ignorant is the rest of the world if they do not grasp this by now?
The U.N. Security Council deadline on Irans’ enrichment moratorium ran out Thursday but the five permanent Security Council members and Germany abstained from committing to immediate sanctions stating they wanted to see if the talks between Solana and Larijani would produce any tangible breaks in the stand off.
Iran’s is standing strong in defiance because it feels that sanctions will be opposed by Russia and China, which are both veto-wielding Security Council members that have major commercial ties with Iran. How does your outsourcing deal with China look now? Imagine you are supporting a country whose government supports Iran. Imagine if Iran sees through on its threat and one day nukes Israel, how will you feel then? If you don’t think its relevant you better think again. America needs to get a grip on its domestic economy so that it emerges this world mess as a super power once again, not a cowardice outsourcing nation that receives no respect for its sell-out actions.
