The war on terror in regards to Iraq, and Afghanistan, is becoming nothing more than a rallying cry for a failed policy. We look so uncouth that now the President of Iran thinks he could win an open debate with President Bush. He must be, and is most likely, out of his mind. However, he shows how badly world opinion of American strength and integrity is thought of. The war on terror is turning sour and appears to be stuck in the mud. Iran understands this and they can wait us out for a long time.
While we waste money and resources they are investing in education and technology. We need to put an end to this stuck-in-mud policy in Iraq and seal the deal. We then need to address the Iranian issue. It’s time we get it in gear, no more slogans, and no more accusations. Just do the damn thing and move us forward. I am soo tired of 9 syllable names I can’t pronounce and never want to hear dominating my evening news.
I want to get back to the business of living and not the process of terrorist avoidance. I want the ability to look for a job because there are so many available in America, not because I have been laid-off. The fact the Iranian President even offers to debate says the sad state of respect America is receiving abroad. It’s time we quit hanging around with the low-lifes and move forward into better company.
The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has requested to have a debate with the United States President George W. Bush. The President of Iran wants the debate format to be open and without much censorship. Reportedly, President Ahmadinejad wants a direct television debate with President Bush so that he can present Irans’ voice regarding their point of view on how to end world predicaments. President Ahmadinejad stated, “But the condition is that there can be no censorship, especially for the American nation.” Is this guy joking?
The king of censorship wants America to be more open and honest? Come on. However, this statement does underscore one sad truth about the Middle East, they are still basically in the darkness when it comes to world policies and politics and the majority of what they believe as truth is controlled by their governments and clerics and you could probably bet that most in Iran believe the Iranian Presidents statements to ring of truth. So what do we do? How do we deal with such idiocy?
I guess before we worry about Iran we need to complete the mop up of the mess we have in Iraq. We now have the rebel cleric, Muqtada al-Sadr, rearing his ugly racist turbin once again. The only two things that apparently get this guy motivated is a double-decker cheeseburger or any sign of western civilization. This man still wields large influence in Iraq and until his militia is disposed of he will always be a likely candidate to become the next Saddam Hussein of the region. The tie in with al-Sadr is that he hates Sunni’s more than he hates Iranians. Therefore, this man is a key ally to Iran and their meddling in Iraq. How can we address Iran separately when they are wielding tremendous influence inside Iraq already?
Lets move forward and out of the mud spot we seem to be stuck in.
