Bush needs Better Domestic Energy Policies, Amongst Other Things

To begin with, why are we rebuilding Iraqs’ oil infrastructure when our domestic infrastructure is in such shambles? Does Iraq pay taxes I don’t know about? I would also like to know why there is not government accountability for issues such as oil pipeline security and safety, I would like to know ‘how can something we rely on so dearly go so badly neglected?’ I also would like to see BP punished, why should American taxpayers makeup for their lost profits? They may be pumping less oil but they are charging us twice as much for what they are pumping, we get screwed and their revenue keeps on flowing, how is this ethical or even remotely legal?

President Bush appears to be the greatest President the Middle East ever had. He has done nothing domestically to stop the fuel problem, curtail outsourcing, or even remotely replenish our domestic infrastructure. Why isn’t the President creating jobs in the bio-fuel market by earmarking money for these types of plants and jobs? Why does President Bush look around the world and not directly under his Republican nose right here in America? We need our President back; the rest of the world can fend for itself for a few months.

The BP oil issue will be another blow American consumer will have to absorb, drivers are already struggling with artificially inflated high gasoline prices, and now add this blunder to the mix. According to CNN, BP was forced to shut off about 8 percent of the nation’s oil supply after discovering “unexpectedly severe corrosion” in the Alaskan pipeline.

The Bush administration has advised that it will provide barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to combat supply disruptions but really we should not be to this point. We should have more bio-fuels available; we should be turning corn to gas by the billions as we speak. However, our current group of politicians allows our government to look overseas and neglect us domestically. I urge you to utilize our government contacts link to find out who your elected officials are and let them know you want them more focused on domestic America than they currently have been. Make your proud voice be heard, one person can make a difference.
