The Political Race in Michigan outlays the problem in America. The President says that illegals are needed for jobs Americans won’t do. However, the jobs Americans will do are being outsourced to third world countries, so where does this leave a bachelors degree educated individual in America? Seemingly, between a hard place and a rock. This is the issue being bandied about in Michigan in regards to he Governors race in 2006. The Republicans say that the Democratic leadership in Michigan is failing, the Republicans shoot back that it is sell-out Republican policies that are hurting American businesses and employment opportunities. This might be just one race but it underscores a major issue in all of America. What and How can America do to keep its good jobs?
The political races in 2006 will be like the shootout at the o.k. corral, both sides are coming out firing with the big guns a’blazin. The Republicans point to numerous failing states and say the Democratic leadership there has failed by not preparing their states to attain jobs of the future. The Republicans have retorted by stating that Republican policies are allowing big business to outsource the jobs of the future and they are the ones stunting economic growth.
All things considered I think the Democrats may have this one a little more right. I believe America needs to have better tax laws that make doing business in domestic America more appealing than to have it outsourced. If all of our technical jobs are being outsourced to India then what is the incentive to get educated? President Bush says we need education but when you spend 20 to 40 thousand to get educated only to have your job constantly being shipped overseas, what is the incentive? I think President bush needs to enact better policy to keep American jobs in America.
Look at companies like Ford which are eliminating American jobs, building more parts in foreign countries, and creating employment in foreign countries. They tell us to buy their product because its American yet all they are doing is selling America out, at least Toyota and Honda are providing American jobs.
I think we need to look long and hard at economic policies and make sure that both Democrats and Republicans prepare America for the right future, not a hopeless outsourced future.
