Violence between Israel and its borders countries is escalating as numerous Muslim leaders try to demand Israel to step to the bargaining table with the Islamic extremist groups involved in the conflict. This begs one question, “Are the F’n crazy?” Usually I would not use such acronyms as F’n but the stance taken by Middle Eastern leaders has me totally perplexed and beside myself. How do these countries justify the fairness of negotiations when one side is holding hostages it kidnapped from a foreign country? Did I miss something here?
If someone walked into your house and kidnapped your child then went around the block and said the child was hidden in one of the houses how long would it take for you to kick each and every door down? Consider that scenario and then tell me how Israel could react in any other manner? This without mentioning that two of the countries involved are firing missiles and rockets into a neighboring country with the hope of killing and massacring innocents, how can this be justified?
A recent discussion with a youth who attends U of M led to the following discussion. The youth is a female of Hindu background; she brought up the following issue by stating, “How much longer will we allow crimes against humanity to occur just because a group claims allegiance to Islam? The curtain has been pulled aside, we now understand Islam, and there is no magic literature that absolves them from their crimes based on their religion.
We despise Satanists for their evil actions, they get no special treatment because of their religion, why should this group? In all actuality Satanists usually do not kidnap, torture, and kill just because a group of people are e dissimilar, that being said compare atrocities committed to humanity by Satanists and then by Muslims and you tell me who has the worse track record.” Her arguments make good sense and I hope it causes reflection and further questioning of the crimes being committed in the name of Islam.
Rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel and reportedly they struck a number of towns and villages in Israel Thursday, the attack occurred only hours after Israeli aircraft bombed Beirut International Airport. The strikes are an effort to marginalize the forces that hold the kidnapped Israeli citizens hostage.
Israel has stated that it holds the Lebanese government, of which Hezbollah is a part, responsible for the soldiers’ abduction. Israel justified the bombings by stating that it targeted the airport because it serves as a central hub for the transfer for weapons and supplies to Hezbollah.
Hezbollah, an Islamic militia backed by Syria and Iran, demanded “indirect negotiations” for a prisoner exchange to resolve the crisis. Israel has rejected that call, arguing it would lead to more attacks. We must also not forget that the Israelis being held are hostages not prisoners, unlike the referenced Muslim terrorists being held in Israel.
Another strange occurrence happened at between the Palestinian and Israeli ambassadors to the United Nations who engaged in a spontaneous debate Wednesday in the hallway outside the Security Council, reportedly at one point the debate became very heated.
