If Israel Is Really Standing Up To Terrorism, Should The World Show More Support?

The world has asked Israel to refrain, then Lebanon jumps in and kidnaps two more of Israels’ son’s, how can this be tolerated? Muslims around the world condemn the Israeli Army incursion yet none of them speak about the kidnappings that have preceded and provoked the military action. Tell me what parent would not go to any length to have their kidnapped child returned? The Muslims have no leg to stand on in this argument. If the soldiers are captured on the battlefield that is one thing but to be kidnapped from their sovereign land is another. Although I have numerous Muslim friends I must call Islam to task as a whole and ask, “Why are they allowing this?”

Reportedly Israel launched air strikes and sent troops and tanks into southern Lebanon Wednesday, after Hezbollah television said its guerrillas had abducted two Israeli soldiers from along the Lebanese border. While spineless patsies allow Islamic extremists to commit atrocities some in Israel are actually showing a spine. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert referred to the Hezbollah attacks and kidnappings as an “act of war” that will be responded to with a very painful and far-reaching response.

Hezbollah is demanding a prisoner exchange for the soldiers’ release but I think the world should call a spade a spade, this is a kidnapping\ransom request not an exchange of prisoners. One side tried to kill and maim other innocents in a foreign country, the other was merely standing guard in their own country, you tell me how an exchange of individuals can be called an equal exchange.

Prime minister Olmert stated, “ This morning there was an attack on civilians and soldiers in the north. At this moment there are Israeli security forces operating inside Lebanon…The government will convene this evening for a special cabinet meeting. I want to make clear that the events this morning are not a terror attack but an operation of a sovereign state without any reason or provocation…The Lebanese government, of which Hezbollah is part of, is trying to undermine the stability of the region, and the Lebanese government will be responsible for the consequences.”

Is Israel standing up to the real issue? Is America’s war on terror to nice and easy? How extreme will Islamic terrorist really get?
