How Can Child Kidnapping Be Justified In Arab Israeli Conflict?

I have heard all of the arguments about why Palestinians march and protest against Israel but the question must still be asked, “Why has the Israeli soldier not been released?” He was kidnapped from sovereign Israel; he was not on foreign land. He was kidnapped and moved to another country. I also wonder how any country with any sense of civility can question the Israelis’ actions, I do not support violence but they are merely trying to locate a kidnapped child, if it was your kid wouldn’t you want the same effort? If Palestine wants the Israeli incursion to end they should do the right thing and return this boy to his family, how can any adult hold a child hostage and then try to take some sort of moral high ground? This is absurd and I think the Islamic terrorists need to be called out on this one. I understand the Palestinians position but I do not support the kidnapping of the innocents as a bargaining ploy, this will never cut mustard with me.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated strongly that he will not put a time limit on military operations in Gaza intended to free an Israeli soldier who was kidnapped two weeks ago, the incursion is also intended to stop Palestinian militants from firing missiles into Israel, which has been occurring daily the past few weeks. Prime Minister Olmert stated in regards to the military action that, “It will continue in places, in time, in different measures that will suit the purposes that were outlined.”

The European Union has asked Israel to moderate its recent military actions while also suggesting that Israel was using disproportionate force to respond to the Palestinian rocket attacks that have continued since Jerusalem’s military pullout from the territory in September.

Prime Minister Olmert responded by stating, “When was the last time that the European Union condemned this shooting and suggested effective measures to stop it…Palestinian militants have fired rockets into Israel every day since the military pullout…The response was terror and terror and terror and terror again.”

I don’t like seeing the Palestinians being distressed but I do understand the Israeli Prime Ministers’ position, I think it’s ridiculous to argue for policies while you are holding a child hostage from another country, what type of leadership is this? Kidnapping is as bad as rape, and murder, I understand they feel they have a position not being heard but this extreme is too far. What is right is right and as long as a child is held captive in Palestine the Israeli Army has every right to use its entire means to return this boy to his mom and dad safely, I do not believe anyone with a soul can argue any other position.
