Why is it that when the good guys discuss preemptive actions that are designed for security reasons only they are publicly flogged? However, when a country such as Iran, Or North Korea, threaten to attempt the annihilation of a whole other culture they are rewarded with economic incentives? Can some idiot please explain the logic to me? I also want to know why China can be so economically involved with the United States but when it comes to standing by their trading partner they abandon us to stand alone. Where is the simple logic that moved humanity forward for so many years? How idiotic have we become?
Japan recently advised that it was considering whether a pre-emptive strike on North Koreas’ missile bases would violate its WW II constitution. Lest anyone forget, the missiles were headed towards Japan and there have been threats of nuclear warheads being added to the missiles in the near, very near, future.
I also wonder if China really urged North Korea not to test their missiles. Many forget that China wants Taiwan back so badly they can taste them from across the straits. However, Taiwan is defended with American technology and this frustrates the Chinese. Some also forget that China is a communist nation and communist nations still detest democracy and freedom. We may outsource our livelihoods to this country but we will never change their values, they do not appreciate any of the values America strives to perpetuate throughout the world.
Don’t believe me, and then ask yourself why China is talking about moderation rather than recourse when it comes to the North Korean issue. China is North Korea’s top ally and benefactor. U.S. officials have been calling for China to take a bolder position with North Korea to use its influence with Pyongyang to persuade it to return to the six-party talks, which are hosted by Beijing. If China really advised North Korea to not fire then why did they? Either they are more rogue and unbalanced than we are led to believe or China really did not involve itself critically in the issue. Either way I think we need rethink our policies in the Far East and consider who we do business with in the future.
China Turns Tail On America In North Korean Issue
Just a word or two, because you seem to think that the world is either “Good or Bad”, when in fact it is more complicated. The United States cannot consider itself completely “good” because it invaded Iraq based on lies by a president who stole an election. Actions speak louder than words, and as of late, the only country acting aggressively is the United States. Loyalty to the United States is good, but you’ve been misled by some “bad” people. Read Rolling Stone article by Kennedy of How Bush Stole the Election, and anything by Naom Chomsky.
The United States cannot consider itself completely “good” because it invaded Iraq based on lies by a president who stole an election.
The invasion of Iraq was predicated on Iraqi cease fire violations — which, under international law, constitutes an act of war.
You are talking about the method used by politicians to coerce and cajole the citizens — folks mostly ignorant of world events in the first place — into buying nto it. That is not reality, that is politics. Only a fool mistakes one for the other.
I’m sorry you don’t like the way some election turned out, but no election was “stolen”.
Actions speak louder than words, and as of late, the only country acting aggressively is the United States.
France has been monkeying around in west Africa for, literally, decades, getting caught playing colonial aggressor in Ivory Coast as recently as 2003 — ironically at the same time as they were claiming the US had no authority to aggress and colonize Iraq.
Any number of African nations are, at any given time, rattling sabers and pointed sticks at each other; the Philipines and Indonesia are brutally — extremely brutally — putting down internal rebellions; NKorea is flinging missiles over the north Pacific, threatenting to hit Japan, SKorea and the obligatory United States; Venezuela has been exporting insurrection into Columbia for nigh on a decade now; the only reason Serbia is behaving is because the EU-US tag team installed a pro-EU government [remember way back in '99 when "regime change" was a good thing?] that doesn’t act on their citizens demands to exterminate Croats and Bosnians and Kosovs just cuz they exist; Pakistan and India are continually raiding each other to see who owns a million acres of Himalayan goat pasture; et cetera.
Be careful when using absolute terms.

Noam is a top-shelf English teacher, but he’s worthless as a political commentator. Don’t get bamboozled by your own “bad people”, there, bud.
