Iraq Offers Amnesty, Its Time To Come Home
What the Iraqi government has proposed as far as amnesty in Iraq is preposterous. Maybe I am shortsighted but how can a country just forgive murders, kidnappings, rapes, thefts, and thuggery? Try telling the parents of the over 2500 American soldiers that their killers have been caught but they are cashing in their one get out of jail free card, this isn’t monopoly and the lives of our brave soldiers are not boots, cars, and hats, moving on board spaces such as boardwalk and park place.
How can we just allow a country to say o.k., you may have committed heinous crimes but if you stop today, and today only, we will forgive and forget? Do you think American mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters will be able to move on so easily? This tells me 100% for sure, its time to get out of Iraq, they do not appreciate our efforts to begin with and this is not the first time I feel we have been unappreciated in this country.
The Iraqi government says that the amnesty is a step in the right direction, good for them but American lives are no stepping stone. We need to conclude our mission and bring our brave soldiers home where they can be appreciated. The fact that Iraq is even considering a free waiver to the worst of criminals in Iraq makes my stomach turn. I want world stability but at this point in time I feel its time Iraq puts its money where its mouth is and take care of their own business.
I believe its time we send a message to our elected officials and let them know, this time we have had enough, we should not lose one more American life for this country’s problems. They talk like they don’t want us in their country, they now offer amnesty to the same insurgents who plot and execute plans to kill our soldiers, I say its time we get our soldiers home and take some of that aide money we keep dumping in to Iraq and help rebuild Americas’ infrastructure for our own future.
