The 2006 class of Seniors deserves to be credited for a hard working four years. However, lets be honest with them. We will advise them to spend tens of thousands to get a degree for a job that will soon be job-sourced to cheaper labor as quickly as possible. This is the education they need to be prepared for. The classes of 1986 and prior are selling out America faster than you can say ‘I am glad I graduated.’
The hard cold truth is that America has given up trying to be the best, the brightest, and the most competitive. The lazier graduates of past classes have lost their competitive edge and now the graduating class of 2006 has to face that reality.
You, of the class of 2006, will be told to go to college, but beware, the gutless wonders of current management have lost their ability to create value. Instead they rely on outsourcing and job-sourcing, as a way to turn any sort of profit, and you my unsuspecting graduates, are going to be squarely in their sites.
We fight terrorism around the world yet all we do is outsource to countries of questionable nature, what does this tell you in regards to the intelligence running this country? The yare selling out now and the future of America will pay later.
Lets hope the graduating class of 2006 actually wakes America up and helps us take back our role as world leaders. God knows the previous classes are failing us miserably.
You say America is fighting terrorism. I assume that by “fighting” you mean working-to-put-an-end-to. But, since you’re on the subject of the people “running our country” doing a bad job, I feel that I should point out to you a few simple truths. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the main reason that a terrorist would want to attack america the fact that they “hate america”? After 9/11 George Bush said “why do they hate us?” Well, policies such as legal immunity for all US contractors working in Iraq, torture at Abu Ghraib, torture at Guantanamo, extraordinary rendition of people who haven’t been charged with any crime to countries that use far worse methods of torture, internment of people who have been charged with no crime, the slaughter of countless thousands of civilians (Haditha is the tip of the iceberg), theft of foreign natural resources (in the “war on terror” for oil in Iraq, and in the “war on drugs” for coal in Columbia) and so on, are all engendering the kind of hatred that breeds more terrorists. Are those “running our country” really fighting terrorism if they’re encouraging it to spread with anger-engendering policies?
Just a question.
