The Real Deal On The Immigration Bill

The politicians have once again performed the Potomac two step, they have danced clear of the immigration issue facing America dead in the eyes and instead they have potentially passed the problem on down the line to the next generation of Americans. No one has actually closed the gaping hole that let all of the foxes into the hen house instead they just redirected our attention to another aspect of the problem. If the problem is your chiockens are being ate by foxes you don’t just paint the barn, you fix the whole in the fence. However, this obvious logic does not work for politicians because it alienates their potential Hispanic vote as well as the big PAC contributors. How can we allow all of these illegals to attain amnesty without first closing the whole which has actually caused this problem in the first place?

The Senate has basically cleared the way for a final passage of a bill that calls for tougher border security as well as a chance at citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. However, many looking strongly at the bill say it is not good enough and really does not address the current problems with illegals accessing America. Without solid improvements in border security we will just be in this position once again in 20 r 30 years, is this fair to the future of America?

Worker permits for illeagls will only push black market prices even lower for cheap labor. Do you really think that companies who employ illegals now are going to pay minimum wage, plus taxes, and all the other federal costs? This is why they hired them in the first place, it’s not the wages as much as the taxes and workmen’s compensation. This will never change and the bill being discussed does not really have any bite to go after the real perpetrators of crime in America, big business illegal alien hirers.

President Bush has advised Congress to approve the immigration bill presented to them which pretty much resembles the one passed by the Senate. Supposedly there are stipulations that call for fining businesses who hire illegals but we must remember there are already laws against that and that has not stopped anyone or anything. When is the last time you heard of businesses getting hit with fines, or individuals being arrested, because they hired illegals?

Politicians need to quit treating us like idiots and actually address the problem at the root otherwise we should just elect new politicians.
